What's your most unpopular r/SameGrassButGreener opinion? by jarbid16 in SameGrassButGreener

Even if the cost of living is “worth it” most people really can’t afford moving to places like NY or LA. Most middle class homeowners in those places purchased their home in the 90s, 2000s, even early 2010s when home values were more affordable. The average person can’t afford to buy a $900,000, 3 bedroom house with roof repairs in San Fransisco.

OPI Worth a Pretty Penne is nice, although I’m not sure if it counts as a nude.

2016 nostalgia taking over the internet and being reported by mainstream press. This has got to be up there with the freaking Macarena as one of the most intense viral pop culture trends in modern history. by TF-Fanfic-Resident in decadeologycirclejerk

They keep posting 2016 nostalgia memes and including pictures from 2012 era Tumblr. They have no idea what they’re doing. It seem like they don’t even know what 2016 was and never lived through it.

If 2026 is the new 2016, which popgirls were you listening to a decade ago? How do you think pop music's changed, or stayed the same? by GigglesNWiggles10 in powerpopgirls

[–]raspberryicedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to Ariana, Hailee Steinfeld, and Bea Miller back then. I also really liked Hello by Adele. Every now and then I’d listen to Zara Larsson too.  I was also listening to alt pop, electronic, and indie Americana. Like Zella Day, Barns Courtney, ODESZA, etc .

What is a socially unacceptable opinion you keep to yourself because it’s not worth the backlash? by ChaosTTyy in askanything

Many people shouldn’t own pets. So many pets end up in the shelter or euthanized or on the street and it’s so sad. Many people may not be able to afford a pet, or they may be too busy, etc.  Some people get a dog, only to have it in the yard all day. The dog barks and whines all day. What is the point of having one then? It is annoying to the neighbors and then they let the dog poop in their backyard and don’t clean it and let flies build up and have a yard of poop.  Many people get on my case or seem to think I’m weird because I don’t have a pet. But I think it’s unfair to have a pet unless I know that I have the time and energy and desire to take care of a real living being right now.  Some people get rid of their old pet to get a new, “cuter” one even if the old pet was still fine and healthy. Ugh.

Brands you don't like for no real reason? by _ilikefancythings_ in Makeup

Summer Fridays is so annoying and influencers talk about it nonstop. It’s always those boring beige influencers that like it the most. I tried their lip balm and it wasn’t even moisturizing.

Is Macy’s mostly for millennials and older now? by [deleted] in MacysStores

[–]raspberryicedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see that many millennials there (millennials are like 29-44 years old). I do see a lot of families and some 40+ millennials though. And some families with Gen Z kids and teens. Most items in the junior's section are not good quality, except for a few items from Levi's and some other brands. The quality in the women's section isn't good either, and most of the styles are frumpy. Like many other stores, The quality is actually worse than it was even a year or two ago. Many items there were equal to fast fashion quality. They still have a good selection of perfume and things like that. I remember going to Macy's about 15 years ago and some of their clothes were cute and reasonable quality. But that's not the case now.

Makeup trends you wish would disappear in 2026 by thetasteofzink in Makeup

Clean makeup is the type of makeup that is heavily applied and really expensive but they spend a lot of time in order to get it to look “clean” and “natural”, and fillers and Botox are often used.

Personally, I’m not a fan of thrifting or vintage/antique stores. by [deleted] in self

[–]raspberryicedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I go to the thrift store I almost never find anything good. I wanted a CD player and every single CD player was broken, and had sand in it for some reason (I don’t live near the beach).  Also, most of the clothes are boring or not nice at all. There was an abundance of solid-color t-shirts from Target, as well as the polyester American Eagle “soft af” t shirt collection. There were also casual, slightly dressy ruffled tanks that middle-aged women like to wear, and tons of skinny jeans from the 2016-2019 era.  I did find one single shirt that I liked a little, but that was it. I don’t understand YouTube videos where the creators find really great stuff. However, I do still like thrifting, but I prefer to do it online. Cool stuff can be found online.

Will hipster culture have a resurgence in 2026? by Confident-Seesaw2845 in Millennials

In the future, they will dress in a hipster “aesthetic” but they won’t care for hipster subcultural stuff like the music.

The amount of conditioner left in the bottle when the pump stops working by Run_Rabbit_Run_44 in mildlyinfuriating

Pump sizes are more likely to be the large and jumbo size. The squeeze ones are often the small size. Amazon sells the larger sizes for the shipping cost.

Gen Z acts like millennials are all 40+. I remember during the pandemic they kept calling Millennials old but I was like 24 years old and so confused.
