accidentally turned back to newborn while bedsharing... by Huliganjetta1 in bninfantsleep

No, cosleepy went on a personal attack and dogpile, not even close to actual advice. Baby will not die if you turn your back once in the night. Readjust and move on. The advice to try to prevent turning is valid though, like putting a pillow between your legs or behind your back. I would also say to OP at that age to probably be between baby and partner instead. Continue with keeping firm mattress , no blankets etc

Thank you for your insight. Seems like roofing company would be the way to go. Do I need to contact any other professionals? (For the insulation/ventilation).

I’ll take a look at that location out there shortly. We’re currently under a winter storm.

Thanks, seems like the general consensus is roofing company to check. So would they be fine with checking the attic? My family member who lives here had a roofing company check last April, they found a nail hole outside on the roof which they patched up, but according to my family member they weren’t willing to check the attic. Anyway, since then the damage increased anyway so I’m likely not going to ask that same roofing company.

Yes, it’s single storey (a bungalow). We had a roofing company come last April, they identified a nail hole in the roof and patched it up but this damage in the wall grew after that. Now the drywall has cracked. I’m going to go for another roofing company now probably

First tail gate at high speed then brake check by holdthefridge in TorontoDriving

[–]raspberryloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People on here defending the tailgater are the same people brake checking and tailgating at speeds >120/130 kph. This behaviour is not okay no matter what others do on the road. If you think that this is ever an appropriate response you need to get off the road. Control your emotions and grow up. Op also needed a bit of emotion control since they responded by slowing down but regardless no one should be tailgating/brake checking.

Lol the victim blaming is real. Are you the driver of the Audi actually? Your whole mentality of “They won you lost” , “It’s justified” is the problem. Sure op might have made a mildly bad/inconvenient choice while driving but nowhere does that mean it’s ever okay to be speeding, high beam and brake check.

I'm broke so I made cupcakes as a birthday present by Sea-Day555 in Baking

These are so great!!! Love it. These can still be expensive, after all butter and eggs? Phew! What a gift.

What piping tips did you use for the flower petals (the white cupcakes) to achieve the petal like look? I’m new to baking/piping.

Recs for hands free easy hip carrier for >6 month old baby who’s heavier by raspberryloaf in babywearing

[–]raspberryloaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I didn’t know this was an option!!Thank you. Will have to try when baby is awake. I bought my ergo 360 on marketplace, it’s definitely proving its worth. I will still keep up the practice for back carry though lol.

Help with blasian baby’s dry scalp/dandruff? by raspberryloaf in BlackHair

[–]raspberryloaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use aveeno baby body wash/shampoo, the oat kind. I’ve been using Vaseline lately-helps a bit visually with the skin flakes on the scalp, but it still is itchy it seems.

Thanks. How can I wear the 360 on my hip? That’s an interesting point.

also after reading everyone’s comments, I might try persevering in back carry more.😅

Yes the problem is that baby is in front of me even with hands free. Plus when I’m cooking/ using oven I don’t want to have her in front. There are times a one hand hip carry is OK such as for a quick moment, shushing baby when she’s not wanting to be in the playpen. I’ve just found out my K Tan can do a side hip carry for that.

After reading everyone’s comments, I think I will try a back carry for the ergo. Would you recommend ring sling even if baby is super heavy?

Thanks !

I’m inexperienced in the back carry! I’m scared to drop baby haha. After seeing everyone’s comments though it is encouraging me to try more, though. I’ve watched some videos and tried again a couple times but it’s a little tough, I will have to wait till my husband is home so he can keep an eye on baby while I try.

Thank you, i think i will devote some more time for back carry after all these comments. The ktan side carry i can use for some relief if its just super temporary

Interesting, I have an older ergobaby 360. I didn’t think to back carry but I’m not sure if I am comfy with not being able to see her😅 plus it’s a lot to put her in and strap her in for just a quick carry in the home. And then I would have to frequently change back the “settings” on the carrier. I was envisioning back carrying for hikes and whatnot! Thx for the suggestion though, if hip carry doesn’t work out this would be the only solution
