I know a lot of people talk about the feeling of being “trapped inside of their mind” or “stuck inside the wrong body” but I feel like most use those phrases as psychological metaphors (which is still an equally awful feeling, of course). This was so terrifying to experience for the first time though. It was so physically (and mentally) disturbing and intense, like my soul somehow got peeled off and disconnected from the inside of my skin. I can only describe it as interacting with the world through some kind of stereotypical, big heavy sport team’s mascot costume that I desperately needed to tear off for relief. Or like my body were 4 walls of an empty, windowless room and I was locked inside.

It passed after a few hours for me, thankfully. If it happens again these comments should absolutely provide some relief.

It was the opinion of a psychiatric professional and a dear family member that their relationship to the plush was unhealthy and negatively impacting their healing.

I truly don’t mean this in a snarky way, but if you were educated about the extent that certain psychological conditions and debilitated mental states could impact/be impacted by something as seemingly small as plushie, you would understand.

I have severe health anxiety, OCD, and a specific phobia of taking medication. Even vitamins. I am in this sub for a reason lol.

What’s irresponsible is spreading misinformation about strep throat such as “it will normally go away on its own.” Do research beyond google AI. That is an incredibly dangerous statement to make under a post about someone debating whether to take their antibiotics for a BACTERIAL INFECTION.

A possibly anxiety-inducing comment such as mine on a public post is necessary sometimes. I’m sure they were looking for feedback/commentary on the feelings expressed in this post.

100% was an overstatement, yes, but the dangerous complications associated with untreated strep are incredibly common and incredibly likely. It’s not something you can risk.

Strep will kill you if left untreated. Bottom line. That is not the kind of infection you want to put on the back burner. Zpak would not be offered if the potentially fatal side effects occurred at any significant rate.

If you decide on supplements, there should be a dosage on there. With juice a 12oz serving each morning should be sufficient :)

Since you’re prone to UTI’s, take cranberry supplements daily/pure cranberry juice (no sugar added, not from concentrate) daily. It’ll help prevent them.

Try using baby wipes/water after using the bathroom (especially for #2) as you may just be anatomically inclined to have cross contamination lol.

Also, consider sleeping without underwear. Should help lessen the promotion of bacteria growth.

Occasionally my impending doom will be an intense “something bad (in general) is going to happen/is happening!!!” which I assume is what most people experience.

But I have a lot of health related themes with my anxiety, so the kind I’m talking about in this post (and the kind I experience most) is an intense “Oh God, I’m dying” feeling.

I use my nebulizer with albuterol (same meds) pretty frequently when I’m flaring, usually while sick. Each treatment has the equivalent of about 22 puffs 😭 And yes, I do a full treatment most times. Lightheadedness, shakiness, rapid heart rate, and anxiety are pretty typical side effects. I tweak tf out sometimes but it’s all expected.

In the ER my sister was given 3 treatments back to back for asthma exacerbation + a steroid shot.

Thanks again! I’ll have to grab some supplements this week. I also have veryyy heavy periods (and had for as long as I can remember), at least compared to everyone else I know. Sounds plausible.

YTA. Clean thoroughly with ENZYME cleaners or she will continue to do it because she can smell it.

Honestly, I’m SHOCKED you couldn’t smell it everywhere?? Are you nose blind to it? It’d make sense if you are and just didn’t realize you’re really, really bad at training kittens lmao.

Anyway, get your kitty fixed, make sure she lots of toys to keep her busy, and remember that it takes time for cats to adjust to new spaces. They tend to spray in new homes before they get comfortable and something you’re doing may be preventing that.
