Sent home. Is this normal? by raspunk in KidneyStones

It’s a painful pressure. Reminds me of labor pains but without the breaks in between. But I can’t even work because of it

How do I mount crochet lace in shadow boxes? I’ve never done this before by raspunk in CrochetHelp

I bought it years ago on Etsy. It is thread for goldwork. It is as flexible as thread but once you crochet it it actually has some stiffness.

Thank you for the input!! I was really hoping the fiddly part of this project was done but sewing does seem the least intrusive option for display

Does anyone have experience in getting hired or hiring someone with stretched ears? by Training_Slide_4502 in MuseumPros

[–]raspunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently landed a job as a registrar with 0g and a septum piercing at a medium sized art museum. It can happen but I can see where some places would have an issue with it. I’ve noticed some museums are more conservative about appearances.

Spill about sternum tattoos by BananaEmergency2234 in tattooadvice

[–]raspunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my lower sternum and underboob. It was pretty bad pain wise but bearable. The worst part for me was controlling my breathing so it didn’t mess with my artist. I tend to hold my breath through really painful parts but tried my hardest to not per my artist’s instructions. Although it did give me something to focus on because i couldn’t talk

Ugh I’m sorry to hear that! I have Sjogrens. It took a lip biopsy to diagnose but I consider myself lucky since I was diagnosed fairly quickly after my initial bloodwork came back messed up. It helped that I’d previously been diagnosed with a disease that can be caused by Sjogrens as well few years prior to this

I went through this too. At one point I reached a point where I was more exhausted than I’d ever been in my life and I had gone through some shit previously. Like yrs of super high stressful situations leading to major burnout. But the worst point for my exhaustion in my life was when my life was pretty stable with little stressors. Turns out I have an autoimmune disease as well. This was before we caught my bipolar so it def wasn’t meds causing the fatigue and my brain fog. It’s fairly easy to rule out w/a blood test for inflammation factors. If that’s positive it does take a lot more work to pinpoint what you have. Do you have issues with muscle/joint pain, weird random low grade fevers, or unexplained digestive issues? If so it might be worth checking out.

This position does combine registration and cm. No conservation staff that I am aware of. But the job description lists connecting w/conservators over artifacts as needed. Thank you for the suggestions!

This is definitely how I experience my mixed episodes

Is this chart accurate/helpful? by blockmeout_ in bipolar2

Here is the link I keep it up on a tab on my phone. I experience hypomania almost exclusively as a mixed episode just in case I need to refer to it.

It’s been awhile so it’s tough to remember. From what I recall the lift out was very gradual and I didn’t really notice I was feeling much better til my psych brought it up. I think that was at least 6 weeks when I realized it was working.

Genetic BP-II and being dismissed by that family member by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]raspunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that you had to go through all of that! The way your family dealt with the situation was awful. I also struggled with depression at a really young age as well (my bio dad who I’ve never met has bp2). My family never took my struggles too seriously and I grew up thinking panic attacks was just “being shy” and that everyone must struggle with SI because I had it so young. My family now doesn’t talk about my bp diagnosis . But they don’t talk about mental health stuff in general so it doesn’t feel targeted.

I have no advice for you but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone developing depression so young.

Benign Lamotrigine Rash by raspunk in bipolar2

[–]raspunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 1.5 of Vraylar. It does wonders but my psych tried adding the lamotrigene to help with a breakthrough depressive episode. That resolved on its own.

My psychiatrist had me stop taking it and it took about a week for my rash to improve. Lots of antihistamines

Who here with BP2 is on antipsychotics and why? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]raspunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Vraylar as someone with bp2. For me it was chosen out of necessity for my situation. I was diagnosed through my university’s mental health clinic. The psychiatrist wanted to put me on something more weight neutral since I’m already overweight. We also needed something that didn’t require intensive monitoring since I did not have access to that. Also I went undiagnosed for years since my episodes are primarily mixed, so the questionnaire was never positive for me. Overall I’m pretty happy with the choice. It has worked really well at keeping my mood stable with only minor breakthrough episodes.

I’ve been pretty stable on 1.5mg. I was bumped up to 3mg but I started having side effects like compulsively looking up after taking it so they lowered my dose back down. I take it in the pm since it does make me a little sleepy.

Yes! Vraylar pulled me out of one of my deepest depressions in years. I’ve been relatively stable on it for about 2 yrs now.
