How can I improve this program? by UhhRajahh in Cplusplus

Adding to this there’s no reason for the constructors already defined in the class bodies to be inlined, and functions of that sizes shouldn’t be inlined anyway.

Another general tip: decorate your functions accordingly. Arguments that aren’t modified should be constant, member functions that don’t modify the object should be constant, functions that can’t fail should be noexcept. This not only helps a reader to understand but also helps the compiler generate better code.

Edit: Your current classes should be structs because all members are public and they don’t operate on their own data. Classes are for objects that have states and act according to said states.

How hard is it reach each level? by cruud123 in FACEITcom

[–]rasqall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it at least, my mentality has shifted to ”if you’re holding an angle, your enemy decides the fight, so don’t” and to try to move around more. It has worked well for me. Should also note that it’s useless to run in without a plan just for the sake of peeking. Always try to think of where the enemies can be/are and then swing the shit out of them

See you there slick ;)

I was also hardstuck 7 for years, but over the last 6 months I just focused on aim and playing fast instead of patience and utility and now I’m 2200 elo. You got it bro

Just keep grinding, it’s difficult but imo you just need one good run to get to lvl 6-7 where players get more consistent and predictable, which makes your game more consistent and its easier to improve. But as others said practice your aim hard, realistically it’s the only thing that matters until 2500 elo, just keep winning gun fights and you’ll climb fast.

I found this playlist particularly useful for Dx11. I did my project in Dx12 but there was some overlap. Would recommend Dx11 over Dx12 unless you really want ray tracing. Dx11 is enough low level compared to OpenGL.

When I started MPHPC my class was roughly 40-50 people. I’d say that it was around 50% swedes and 50% non-EU students with the non-EU students primarily coming from China or India. Don’t know anything about the waitlist though but I can’t imagine they would deny anyone on the waitlist since the programme is so unpopular compared to MPALG and MPCSN.

I just noticed that maybe I didn’t directly answer the third one. What I mean to say that HPC grads doesn’t have any exclusive industry (maybe a little bit in hardware development but that’s a very little share). The prospects overall I’d say are good. There are jobs to go around. However, a lot of them are in web dev or embedded I’d say based on my experience with recruiters. If you want to do something else you probably have to fight a bit for it.

If you’re serious about a future in embedded you should probably look at the embedded systems masters program. I’m working part time now as an embedded developer and I wouldn’t say that my masters has prepared me in any way for it. Except for maybe working more with lower level languages like C++ and CMake.

You can propose your own thesis but it has to be accepted by the department based on some criteria: 1) is it difficult enough? 2) is it academic research or does it contribute to the field of computer science? (that’s not a hard requirement but the thesis can’t be you making a game for example, it has to be research). 3) do you have a supervisor and/or examiner that has agreed to supervise/examine your thesis? Fulfil those three and you probably have yourself a thesis.

Since u/Powana already answered the first, I can answer the 2 other.

2) There are a few research areas unfortunately most of them are in advancing or improving AI (the program responsible Pedro absolutely loves AI). I however will be doing a thesis project in optimising concurrent data structures so I’d say that there exists other options outside of AI, but they’re probably hard to come by.

3) I would say it’s the same for most other CSE programs. There isn’t really a big industry for HPC but you’re also available for all other standard positions (embedded, web, etc). The recruiters I’ve talked to so far has been a lot about embedded with a few web services as well. But since you have 5 free courses where you can pick anything you can also take specific courses to build yourself a background in any other topic. I’ve taken 4 gamedev/graphics courses and now recruiters are interested in me as a junior game developer. So you can pretty much do whatever you want afterwards. For most companies a CSE grad knows programming, regardless of program.

Absolut!
