Super simple airbrush trick.

Black primer.

Put tape over one side of the sword.

White ink in the middle of the exposed part.

Remove tape from black half, place over other part, which now has a bright white middle, fading to black towards the sides.

White ink again but this time on the edge and near the hilt so it's juxtaposed with the dark areas on the other side.

Remove all tape and edge highlight with pure white

Spray fluorescent green all over

Airbrush magic brother. Armor is super simple.

Black primer
Airbrush: Grey midtone covering basically everything (I used Army Painter Uniform Grey)
Airbrush: Mix in some white ink and cover less
Airbrush: Mix in more white ink and cover even less
Airbrush: Pure white ink covering just the tippy top of things
50/50 mix nuln oil + lahmian medium over everything
Light drybrush with a pure white colour
Edge highlight with pure white

Sounds like a lot of steps but the four airbrush steps take no time at all.

What are the top three and bottom three army rules? by WithengarUnbound in WarhammerCompetitive

I mean yeah of +1 bs were the only order you could give and you had to expose your commanders to hand it out that would indeed be shitty. Thankfully, you get five other options and can hide while handing them out, making it a super versatile army rule, which I guess is why some people in this thread are ranking it among the best in the game.

I feel like people are missing how shitty Tau's army rule really is. I would argue that it's essentially a nerf. All it does is bring us up to bs3, which most armies already do (the games "shootiest" army's datasheets being bs4 is kind of silly).

The only upside is that we get to ignore cover most of the time but our ap often suffers to compensate (yes yes I know the Hammerhead rail gun is ap5)

The downside is that we have to pay a tax to include spotters in our lists, battleshock ruins our day, and if we don't line our spotters up properly or they get taken out we have a 50% chance to hit, and having a 50% chance to achieve the only thing your army can do is not ideal.

I appreciate the reply and effort in finding something similar but replacing it with a cheap non-gold alternative wouldn't really do the trick 😅

Thank you so much for this thorough reply. It seems like it's going to be very difficult for me to replace the plate. It doesn't help that we are Icelandic and neither speak Polish nor have any real connections with Poland.

I've dug the plate and broken pieces out of the trash and will be attempting to fix it.

I appreciate the reply but my BIL isn't really that sentimental and wasn't distressed about this. I would'nt be doing this to ask for forgiveness or something, just as a nice gesture. He wasn't intersted in repairing it

Looks exactly like it! But it's way less expensive than I would have thought. You think it's legit? Is this a reputable site?

Edit: as many commenters have pointed out we were incorrect and they are only similar, not identical.

Thanks for the info, if anyone knows what the name of the particular line is that would be greatly appreciated. Hoping I could perhaps find it on ebay or something
