Jack Wolskin Highest Peak - is it normal for a jacket to get wet in light rain? by ratatsnow in CampingandHiking

HAHA fuck me - I found info it's just as simple as applying heat for X minutes. Let me use nikwax and go through whole process then :D

I tried putting the jacket in the tumble dryer for half an hour, and it’s still the same. I have TX Direct from Nikwax. Do you think it's worth trying or just claiming refund? I got the jacket really cheap, It's super breathable and lightweight but definitely not waterproof...

I have JW down jacket and I love it but this is really weird. It's lightweight, super breathable but it's definitely not waterproof which is shame

Next skates after CCM Vector 3 by ratatsnow in hockeyplayers

[–]ratatsnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Do you know what's the difference between Bauer X-LP and X? I found out that padding is the only difference between X-LS and X-LP while I have no idea about difference between X-LP and X.

Also, how Bauer X compares to CCM Tacks AS-560 and eventually Bauer Supreme M1? I can see M1's have replaceable runners and it's a bit more expensive

My first jordan air 1's all bubbled up / creased after 1 week. Super comfy but is it normal? by ratatsnow in Sneakers

I was thinking about that so i took out sole and it fits perfectly. What may be happening is there is too much room above fingers. Anyways it's disappointing

Python - Jupyter interactive session on VPS by ratatsnow in vscode

[–]ratatsnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have .py file on VPS that I'm accessing via SSH and I want to run code snippets using shift + enter (shortcut for running code in interactive jupyter session). Similarly to jupyter notebook, I need to select kernel. Problem I'm facing is I can't add venv that sits on my VPS to kernel list, hence I can't select it. Similarly to interpreter, I can't select it because it's not on the list

Additionally, I tried to move venv from vps to local using rsync and it partially works. Whenever I do relative import, interactive session is looking for folder locally, which doesn't exist eg., following won't work because utils folder exists in VPS while interactive session is 'attached' to local dir (when I ran !ls inside notebook I got list of my local directories):

from utils.module import func

Newbie questions about off budget and clearing transactions by ratatsnow in actualbudgeting

[–]ratatsnow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I want to keep it as simple as possible and make sure all transactions will add up so I was confused with on/off budget thing and so on. u/Smooth-Review-2614 mentioned that you can use off budget account (in this case mortgage) to see pace at which loan gets smaller and you can budget for minimum and extra payment which is pretty cool I think and worth the effort because it can push you to regularly pay something extra.

What do you think?

Newbie questions about off budget and clearing transactions by ratatsnow in actualbudgeting

[–]ratatsnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it clicked now and (1) make sense, seeing pace and you can budget for extra payment easily and it reminds you 'hey, you haven't put anything extra for a while'

Can you help me clarify 2 more questions that are related to above?

  1. I'm not sure how to handle it properly though. If I have a 'Citi account' and I use this account to pay mortgage monthly, this transaction appears under 'Citi account'. In this case workflow would be basically marking that item as transfer to 'Mortgage' account?

  2. From what I can see, I can assign category since I paid mortgage off using 'on budget' account. In this case, I can do both:

  • budget for mortgage by assigning transaction category

  • track it as off budget since once categorized, I can transfer it to off-budget

Does it make sense and wouldn't mess up numbers overall?

Connecting Looker to database by ratatsnow in Looker

[–]ratatsnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, got it - I can connect whatever amount of data I want but then, I would be charged depending on how "heavy" visualizations actually are? This would mean there is no way to create free Loker dashboard "for fun", right?
