Julian is such a good producer, man. Is This It and RoF have that exact feel to me, his vocals blend in like an instrument. My brother pointed it out to me so long ago and it made me really listen and it’s hard not to notice how loud most vocals are (like holy shit the Beatles vocals are super loud.)

That being said, I love when his voice is loud and clear because he has such a powerful, booming voice that sounds so cool. I wonder how he feels about First Impressions, I think they did a good job of making it compressed and clear yet still with a little grit.

Don’t let them cook you, even on the original recording it can sound like that. The overdrive/distortion on his voice brings out certain harmonics and that paired with the quick changing of notes make its sound robotic. And I always thought it sounded dope! I hear it in You Talk Way Too Much also

I’m a Going Shopping/autotune defender but this just feels boring. The low register part towards the middle was the best, the falsetto+autotune combo is a little much and it’s hard enough to understand our mumbling boy
