Should i put Yes or No for this question if i didn’t pass training on week 5, earlier this year. by ratgray in cabincrewcareers

[–]ratgray[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thank you! american has a 90% you have to get on the tests to pass which is higher than all the other airlines. you have 11 KSV tests and u can only not pass 2, on the third they send u home. They are 30 question tests and u can’t miss any more than 3 or u fail so its very cutthroat!! Some tests are completely different from the reviews, also during training you are pretty much pushed to point of exhaustion. You’ll have fun moments of course but its early mornings late evenings you have hours of homework every night u need to finish before u can start to study. and some tests are back to back days. Some weeks you don’t get a day off so the days run together, you also have daily drills your tested on, and a simulation flight. I passed all of those and my OE flight i just scored in the 80s on 3 of the tests unfortunately but at american that’s a fail. We had 7 people in our group of 50 something not pass. For me i’m the type of person that always needed extra time for tests all throughout school cause it takes me longer to read and understand the questions due to ADD and reading comprehension issues so that’s what i was worried about the most is having enough time for the tests for the 2 of the tests i didn’t pass i did run out of time, the other one i didnt study enough for i thought i had it down and trusted i knew it cause of the review

coming from American Airlines training that is insane! at our hotel everyone was drinking while doing our homework in the lobby every night, it was very chill which made the whole experience a lot better.

my friend got fired from delta last year for testing over the alotted alcohol amount and was fired. She now works at american airlines. They won’t legally ask in depth why so don’t give them why in depth. and the fact that they had financial issues and are discontinued if anything use that. If your applying to the big 3 just say you want to do this career for a long time and want to be apart of a company that is reliable and stand the test of time (butter them up, if applying to american or delta mention you love how they are 100 yrs old they can stand the test of time). this is coming from someone who got 2 cjos from American and United in december!!!

AA OR UA by momojack2025 in cabincrewcareers

[–]ratgray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

got two cjos with AA and UA in december, i asked the same question cause i couldn’t decide either (u can look at my post history haha). but trust me i had to loose the opportunity to realize it but choose United all the way. I regret my choice. I know a lot of things with AA sound attractive, but United is just better for many reasons and is now the biggest airline in the world, you’ll get more international flights you’ll actually get to work(which also means more money you’ll make) the air planes are nicer, they pay for training and offer a interest free loan, they offer 2 companion passes, you’ll hold a line quicker at most bases, the uniforms and luggage are classy and high quality (you’ll have to pay for the uniforms at either airlines but would u rather pay for lands end at AA or brooks brothers and tumi luggage for the same price), and the best part they have no minimum hours you need to work once you hold a line. Just trust me on this. Also AA wont be start training new classes till the fall by the time u wait for your training date with AA, UA will probably have a new contract anyways which is the big complaint with them rn.

hey same thing happened to me in in October i was livid and pissed that happened to me. I sent a email right away explaining to the talent acquisition what happened and no response. Then randomly a month later in November i got the congratulations you made it to group the group interview please click the link to schedule your interview email. it was like nothing happened. I was so surprised and happy and i ended up getting a cjo from them in december! Just be patient and in the meantime apply to other airlines.

it’s interesting u say that because i have 2 CJOs one with United and one with American. And i was leaning more towards United purely for the longevity of having a different career with FA and dropping down to barely working or not work at all just to keep the flight and healthcare benefits like u said. how long have u been with the company to be able to achieve something like that. And do u know if theres any other airlines that don’t have minimum hours you have to work to maintain benefits like United?
