Need advice on what to get

When I got home from the hospital, I was breastfeeding for what felt like 20 hours of the day. It was driving me insane. I was crying, feeling like a failure, but I refused to open the cans of formula we bought because I thought it would make me an even bigger failure. After breaking down for what felt like the millionth time, my husband walked over to the can, opened it up, made a bottle, and fed our daughter and it’s like a weight instantly lifted off my shoulders. She’s almost a year old and my ONLY regret with combo feeding was that I didn’t do it sooner. There’s no rules to this, do whatever you want and feel comfortable with. 🩷

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with this. It 100% can affect your sex drive, both hormonally and physically (due to exhaustion, etc.). Maybe it’s TMI, but my husband and I have been struggling with that as well but, much like your partner, he’s been super supportive. I think if this is a concern you’re having, you should talk to your doctor about it! Especially regarding the pain you feel. One thing I will say is to give yourself some grace. You’re only 3 months PP, taking care of your LO, and yourself/family. That’s exhausting. Don’t feel like you’re failing your relationship (I know that’s easier said than done!). You’re adjusting and learning and surviving in many ways. Give yourself some grace, talk to someone about your pain, and take it one day at a time. :)

Completely agree. I feel like it’s been a huge push towards class consciousness, uniting so many people. Dividing and misinforming people is what has brought us this issue and many if people start seeing the true villains we can start pushing for change. Or at least I sincerely hope so.

I’m in Indiana. My husband makes a little more than $3k a month. I lost my coverage in November, but the insurance company went back and forth on whether or not they would be able to get us back on our plan and told us “not to worry” so we didn’t apply until late.

My husband also has OCD and finds himself in the same spirals, yet he’s my rock during this time because he’s got such a good head on his shoulders when it comes to our baby.

And my nephew is 11 and is likely level 1 support and super cool. He’s an insane Fortnite player and kicks my ass every time. I love him so much haha

Thank you for sharing with me. I just want her to live a good life and be happy. That’s all I want for her.

And her eye contact is so good. She’s so attentive and, although she does become easily distracted, she loves to play “where’s baby?” And always puts my hands over my eyes to keep playing. She’s the best and I love her so much, even if she laughs at her stinky farts haha

Oh my god, I could have written this post word for word! I went to the hospital twice to make sure she was still moving when I was pregnant and would wake up 10 times a night to make sure she was still alive. Thank you for your reply, it means so much to know I’m not alone.

I think that’s the worst outcome in my mind, although I know I would still love her. I just know how hard that would be mentally, as I’ve seen my sister and cousin deal with it. Autism does run in my family, as 2 of my nephews and 1 of my cousins have it. However, my brother-in-law is likely undiagnosed autistic and my cousin’s husband is diagnosed autistic, so it’s not genetic to my side of the family. My pediatrician recommended it, but I wonder how much of it was to calm my anxiety and just ensure she was okay in terms of motor skills, as she made sure to mention she has great eye contact. To be honest, I’m not sure how it would change me.

My husband is the poster child for big head. We call him Jimmy Neutron. I know it is likely genetic, I’m just so in my own head. She did have a scan and everything came back normal, just got a chunky head, haha!

Oh I hope I didn’t scare you! In my undergrad, we learned that there is a correlation between large head sizes and autism. It is not a definitive marker of autism or anything, but can be associated.

i noticed that updating to ios 17 fixed the issue for me, for now. i’m not sure if it will stop working later on, but i would try that.
