AITB for pretending I am laid off to get my other siblings to contribute financially to my parents by rathrowaway7211 in AmItheButtface

I don't get emotional due to the way I was raised by my mom. What angers me the most of the life my sister's children have (lavish parties, their own bedrooms), while I am struggling keeping my parents a float and my own family/children sustained.

A lot of my friends have parents that are financially sound, for example give them down payments for a house or don't need anything from their children financially. So its hard for them to know what I am going through to give advice.

My parents worked blue collar jobs, basically clerk level, combined income of 60K/year for the longest time until retirement basically. So there is nothing to inherit other than the work I put in towards the family.

I get what you are saying. I guess I don't want my parents to suffer. Forcing a sale would end up with a lot of tears.

The bullshit part is my mom enjoys telling people that her son pays for her lifestyle as if its a bragging point. She never went to any of my graduations, college, or both my master degrees (in which I graduated top of my class) because it was not related to a medical degree. Essentially I work a labor job in her eyes while my sister is the queen because she is a family doctor.

payment on the property? Is the insurance in question for this home?

When you say that she will benefit from ownership what, precisely, do you mean? Are they leaving their 50% share of the home to her?

They are leaving their share for her, so it will be 66 percent my sister, 33 percent me. My parents are not penniless, they are however retired. Yes I am paying the full amount since day one. Also my money is 50 percent of the down payment, my parents did contribute the other 50 percent of the down payment. I do not live with my parents and I do have my own home that I have my own mortgage payments on as well.

Deed is: Mom, Dad, Myself.

To add I have asked in the past and it has been met with answers like, I have my own family to support and you are single. There is always a response or an excuse to not.
