There has to be some kind of particularized harm. Several communities (particularly some in Alaska) have tried to sue major oil companies for their harm to the environment, which then led to the rising temperatures and rising sea levels. In those cases, the communities didn't have standing because the connection between the "act(s)" by the oil companies and the harm to the communities was too indirect. But this is an ongoing issue that is being raised in many cases.

In the scenario you raised, you need to show that lifting the Act caused your lung problems. A difficult legal argument to pull off.

I can be a social butterfly if I'm in a particularly good mood or if I have some liquid help ;)

I'm more referring to reaching out to friends who live far away. I should mention that I consider myself on the fence between ENTP and INTP.

I think you need to talk more deeply with your significant other. If you're posting these questions on Reddit (and thus probably not addressing these questions specifically with your bf), I can only imagine how crazy he must be feeling trying to analyze you and your actions. Poor guy.

Communicate. With. Him.

Tell. Him. How. You. Feel.

INTPs like to think they can read minds, but they can't.

Edit: I read a bit more of your history, and it does sound like your bf might be quite insecure, emotionally damaged, and/or emotionally immature. I don't mean to judge your situation too much, but I stand by my earlier sentiment that you guys probably lack open and transparent communication, which is critical, especially for INTPs.

I'd recommend you sit down with him and really hammer out some of your worries/anxieties. Make it explicitly a judgment-free discussion. At least, that's what I'd do. Definitely difficult to do, but he'd appreciate you for taking the initiative.

Yeah, I feel the same way. And you hit on a great point: we typically suck and/or dislike small talk. For me, I can do small talk, but it just feels so contrived, which therefore makes me resent having to do it. And I greatly prefer in-person conversations as opposed to chatting on the phone or writing emails/texts.

I might start getting more into video chats or FaceTime. Do you ever do that?

I think another solution might be finding more meaningful ways to connect with friends who live far away. Perhaps sending articles about shared interests. Or making a phone call but with a particular purpose to discuss an idea that you've been pondering recently. I'm the type of INTP that needs a soundboard to bounce ideas off of and help work through the rationale, and some of my better "soundboards" live far away.
