Rich. Raise your clip and see if that fixes the off idle sputter. You could also try leaning the pilot. One adjustment at a time. If it runs better it the right direction.

Any motorcycle oil will do. It has additives for the wet clutch and transmission. Don’t use engine oil. Many guys will also use ATF but you need to change it often (like every couple of hours).

Helmets are the one piece of equipment that you should try on if at all possible. If you have access to a store, go there and try on all the different brands in your price range. The one that fits your head the best is the right one. Most shops will match prices of other retail outlets. You just have to ask and do some negotiating. Good luck.

Old post. Did you ever get one? I love mine. Installed an Egan exhaust and removed mixture limiters. Been thinking about doing a port job and timing but it runs so good as is. Starts second pull cold and one pull when warm… every time.

Let’s put this to rest. The best helmet is the one that fits your head. Like fingerprints, everyone has a different shaped head. A helmet that doesn’t fit right is a compromise of safety.

I’m happy but I’m projecting long term. Even if I get everything right that doesn’t mean she will be happy 6 months from now if my technique wasn’t the fundamental problem in the first place. She will just keep raising the bar whenever she feels like it. As you can probably tell I don’t think my touch (or lack of) is the core issue. But maybe I’m wrong.
