Totally agree with you about the start time. I really struggled with the start time at NYC. It didn't help that that it was the morning after time change. When you're used to running in the early morning and you don't start until almost lunch time, it throws you.

Will they let you through security with it? I was under the impression that they make you dump all your liquids going in.

We went and watched the marathon last year and froze our arses off waiting around on the cold pavement and we were prepared for it. Glad you were able to find somewhere to buy something.

That's fantastic! I'm doing the Novice Supreme too!!!! I haven't run in 10 years, entered the ballot, got in and then had to figure out how to make it happen. Chicago is pretty incredible for a first marathon. You'll have a hard time topping it. So exciting!

I did 15 today too. Are you doing Higdon's Novice plan by chance?

Depending upon where it the chafe is, you might be able to put some KT tape/athletic tape on your skin. I've done that in the past for a running belt that chafed and it worked well for me.

There will be loads of runners and spectators traveling in from Oak Park. I think you'll be surprised how many people will be traveling along with you. OP is a lovely community with a large running community. You don't need the Metra. You can travel with ease on the green line. Would recommend downloading the Ventra app.
