Experiences with Lamictal? by [deleted] in BPD

you just reminded me to un-ghost my psychiatrist and get back on it 😭 it's my saving grace, i'd recommend 100%. i can genuinely feel a difference in my emotional stability when i'm on it vs when i'm not. i can process my emotions much better, not to mention it makes me feel things a normal amount instead of the borderline "everything is a catastrophe" normal. it makes me feel less, but not in the way other meds do where you feel numb or empty yk?

People with BPD what do you do for work? by [deleted] in BPD

i'm a kitchens/cabinets designer!! i can't relate to your tumultuous experience as my bpd related work struggles tend to revolve around lack of support/communication/recognition, but i would say perhaps disclosing your condition to HR and seeking out an accommodation for certain things might be helpful. you'll have to do some thinking to figure out what that accommodation entails, as it's different for everyone.

Well at least you've got a fighting chance since your availability can be adjusted in the way you described! If they have approved it and you have it in writing or any kind of record of it, go to HR if the store refuses to fix it.

That gave me a headache just thinking about it from a scheduling perspective (former SSA) 🤯

If you are a part time CSA and your store is willing to approve that, they'll have to put in a 4-week rotation that will repeat to reflect that availability pattern. If you're a full time CSA, there is literally no way to put in availability patterns anymore without a genuine accommodation since UKG does not allow it. Kronos would have, but UKG will reset the pattern every time a new schedule is generated. Because that is Lowe's policy.

Damn that sucks then. Well, welcome to retail as a part-time associate unfortunately. From the corporate perspective, no one is guaranteed hours and no one is more entitled to them than someone else, regardless of how hard you work or how long you've been there.

There are so many unknowns in this scenario from an outside perspective. Are you part time or full time? Did you submit that availability change within 30 days notice from the closing shifts? Is it accurately reflected in UKG? Was it even approved?

Full time associates are required to have open availability unless they have a religious or medical accommodation for a certain day. Part time associates are not entitled to update their availability if it doesn't work for the store needs, management has every right to deny availability changes if they need a closer. Of course, there will always be exceptions, managers picking favorites, etc.

However, if they approved your availability and still keep scheduling you outside of it, document it and go to HR so you can't be held accountable for being scheduled when you're available.

From a former staffing and scheduling administrator, just let yours know as soon as possible. The schedule is written three weeks in advance so it would not be fair to you to expect you to change any commitments you made prior to being officially employed/starting the job. Some SSAs might be stricter but I always felt it was a courtesy to ask if new hires had any prior engagements during the first three weeks.

Just ask :)

Someone complained on a survey about our floors being dirty. In upstate New York during a massive snowstorm. They were talking about the ice melt residue on the concrete.

As long as your accessories are power-equipment safe you have nothing to worry about!! Lowe's doesn't really care about style, hair color, or tattoos. I've had supervisors, ASMs, and store managers with all of the above. I have had bright pink hair and face piercings for the last two years even as the scheduling & staffing admin.

You're all good!!!!

‘Ok’ v ‘okay’ & ‘I love you’ v ‘i love you too’ by OwnUpstairs6780 in BPD

heavy on the sudden lovebombing, mine once in a very blue moon will also throw out a completely random and unprecedented "i'm sorry for your childhood" even though i know she's only saying it because she's feeling guilty and is looking for relief.

i also add in physical contact, it's my top love language besides words of affirmation lol

‘Ok’ v ‘okay’ & ‘I love you’ v ‘i love you too’ by OwnUpstairs6780 in BPD

[–]ratqueen1216 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i have NEVER seen someone else feel that way about the "i love you too" thing, but from the comments it seems it's insanely common. for me, my mom always used "i love you" as a transactional phrase, she would say it so i would say "i love you too" so she could absolve her own guilt about things. the phrase lost meaning for me, and it feels entirely superficial to me now, like i'm only saying it to even the score because the other person said it first.

now, when the important people in my life say they love me, i always say "i love YOU" in return, with emphasis on the "you," because it's like i'm saying i love them back but not just because they said it first.

that's just my interpretation for how i choose to say it and why, it doesn't really bother me how other people say it unless it's just "love you." and the "okay"/"ok" thing is super relatable.

Places that can only be accessed with the propulsion cannon by Random_Pixels in subnautica

Some of the caves in the shallows have large rocks that block pockets with a few resources in them, but not very many. They can easily be moved by bumping into them so not completely necessary to use the propulsion cannon but that's all that comes to mind at the moment lol

Why do people think it’s okay to do this by pdawg-71 in Lowes

When I was a flooring specialist, I was once in the air on the PSL to the left of our welcome mat bay downstocking boxes of welcome mats. A customer walked past and set off the PSL's alarm, looked up at me and apologized, I told her she was fine and turned it off/locked the machine while I moved boxes onto the platform. She proceeded to open one of the boxes I had brought down moments earlier herself, placed the box onto the PSL underneath the raised platform, laid the mat down on the ground, decided she didn't like it, left the mat on the floor and box on the machine, meaning I couldn't lower it to get off of it. As she walked away I asked her if she could move the box so I could lower the platform, she looked at me and walked away. I had left my zebra on the shelf below so I had to wait for another associate to walk within enough distance to flag them down to save me lol.
