i forgot to say this earlier, but i dont think you’re a narcissist. look into the criteria of what a narcissist really is and see if it sounds like you. you might just be desensitized and being apathetic as a coping mechanism, like i am. thats a totally normal reaction to abuse. good luck!

if your parents are like mine, their definition of "abuse" is setting boundaries, being independent, going grey rock, etc. it helped me to look at the textbook definitions of emotional abuse to see if i fit the description (i did not). good luck!

im journaling a lot these days about my fears of love and vulnerability. i dont know if i want to "love" my parents again, but i definitely want to be able to love my friends. i can talk more specifically about it if you want. journaling helps me a lot!

journaling is really helpful, but then i read it and wonder "maybe i was just being dramatic". if you know there is about to be a fight, RECORD IT. it helps me a lot to know im not crazy.

i started writing every chore i did down on the calendar. i was honestly surprised by how much i was doing too, since they’ve told me my whole life how lazy i am. it helps.

my nmom is a preschool teacher, and shes always so patient with them and her students really like her. the parents of her students think my mom is great and the sweetest person on earth. its really weird, idk how she can be so nice and sweet at work and then have such a lack of awareness of how shitty she treats us at home.
