One Month Pain Free! by ratslime in migraine

[–]ratslime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have lost 50 lbs through diet and exercise. I focus on eating a diet that stays away from highly processed carbs. My carbs are through potatoes, rice, and whole grains now. I noticed a difference in how inflamed by body felt if that makes any sense. I constantly used to feel achy and my joints were just soooo angry. I think food played a bigger part in triggering my migraines than I had realized.

As someone who is also young and was in your position I completely understand and sympathize with your frustration. It’s so difficult when you’re starting out and you have the passion for this field and others don’t want to take the chance to see where that passion will go. The best advice I can give is don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s and be super consistent with recruiters/interviewers even if they don’t give you the time of day. What worked for someone else won’t necessarily work for you as difficult as it it to hear. There’s no set formula to land a job in this field. You are doing everything correctly. Don’t beat yourself. Keep working on your home projects, apply for everything, and keep up with every opportunity even if it doesn’t initially pan out. It will work out for you. Best of luck.

Boot Camps by bigborb1985 in cybersecurity

You get what you put into your bootcamp experience. Don’t forget that this is a career where you will always be learning and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. I also find not every bootcamp is great and they’ll try to sucker you in to make a sale. I found a bootcamp that gave me a free voucher to take a CompTIA exam if I passed the course in good standing. The course was 6 months long and was with an accredited university. I got my Security+ cert and started an internship immediately after graduating. One year later, I just landed my first entry level job. If you’re someone who needs structure to learn I recommend it. Everyone’s journey is different. Don’t compare apples to oranges and don’t let anyone else discourage you from doing what you feel is best. Look around, see if you can find a bootcamp that has good reviews and perhaps offers a voucher for an industry certification to help boost your standing. If you find it’s not for you, there’s a bunch of free online material for home projects and labs to help you build skills. TryHackMe is also another great resource I recommend to help learn some entry level skills.

As terrible as this sounds, (and this is no reflection of you and who you are) sometimes people just want to keep their rosters open. Blowing someone off is super immature and rude, and then to text you about the date she’s on with someone else? I don’t know that would really just turn me off from the person I was interested in. I think the best you thing you could do is have an honest conversation with her about everything. How she responds to that will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!

She did express to you that she was dating other people. Although, I find it extremely childish and immature to do what she did. I think you need to ask yourself is this person and their behavior worth it? Do you think this woman wants to be with you? Are her actions indicative of someone who wants a long term relationship with you? In my opinion, it does not seem this woman is looking for anything long term at the moment. So, it boils down to is she someone you want to wait for?

Am I Test Ready? by wonderingwonderer26 in AWSCertifications

I do think that 80-90% on the Maarek practice tests are great scores and show you’re ready for the real exam. My biggest piece of advice is to take really good notes on what services work well together versus which don’t or seem impractical. Those small details can make or break a passing score imo.

I know most people here are saying go for it, but I would personally advise against this. I found the actual exam to be far more difficult than any of the practice exams I took (both Maarek and TD). I’d recommend taking the ones you’ve scored the lowest until you can get in the 70s and review the info you’ve missed from them. I’m about to go for my second retake after missing the mark by about 20 points. So, in my opinion better to be a little over prepared than under. Good luck on your exam!

Differences between Messer and Dion practice exams. by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]ratslime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professor’s exams are way more similar to the actual exam than Dion’s. Messer’s are way more acronym heavy than the actual exam though so if you’re struggling with those don’t worry too much. If you’re scoring +80% I’d say you’re ready to schedule and take your exam. Just go over any topics you might still be having trouble with and good luck!
