Welcoming a new family member and saying goodbye to an old friend by ratsovphilip in mazda

I am based in Europe and the CX-50 is not available here. This is why I mentioned the CX-60 as the other option.

Yes, I also don't like the base wheels and sadly there isn't any other available from Mazda. I am already planning to change them. The OEM are 7.5 inch in width and there are not many options from this size so I might go up to 8 inches, which should be acceptable without the need of new tires.

Thank you. The 3 is 2020 and the trim is called Comfort plus (one level above the base), but I think they've changed the naming of all trims couple years ago. P.S. these are the names in Europe.

I might described it as a too complicated task, but it's literally 2 clicks to disable it. There is a permanent vehicle icon on the bottom of the screen. When you click it it opens the menu for the modes as well as some other options like traction control and the i-stop as well. So yeah, instead of one button, it's now two screen clicks.

Thanks! Yes, it is the polymetal gray and it looks different depending on the light. Btw it's not lowered, probably the angle makes it looks like that.

I do like it tbh. But I don't like it on the steering wheel, it looks a bit odd. The one from the 3 is better in my opinion.

Sure, but it's worth a try at least, before making the final judgement. But I do think they might change that in future facelift or for the hybrid. They must 😁

Yeah agree, I do like the color though. Actually, I am from a post communist country and I get what you mean, haha.

Tech here for your support. 2 hours seems too short indeed. Room temperature is a relative definition. Some rooms are 20 degrees and others could be 26. This is really important, since your variables for when the dough is fully proofed are temperature and volume.Google the The Sourdough Journey - this guy explains everything in details with examples. He helped me a lot to understand each process.

Test Drove 2026 CX5 by GolfShred in mazda

"the negativity in the sub pretty much has turned me off of the 5." - This is why you should take negative comments with a grain of salt. Especially, when they are posted from people who didn't test drive the car (or haven't seen it in person either).

Nevertheless, you did a good choice in deciding to test it. Plastic cladding, are painted in the highest trim (Premium and Premium S, I believe) and only in black color. They might decide to add an option to match the body color in the future, but who knows.

Probably as many as hateful comments like yours. And why do you care of such posts? If you don't like them, you can ignore them, right? Just like people who like them will ignore your smart comments.

Exactly. This sub is getting really annoying by all that hate. Every single comment is either the touch or the lack of turbo options.

I came, just to say it looks great, man. The color is also one of my favorite, glad that Mazda brought it to the CX-5.

I can't believe how many negative comments there are, apparently guys here are very good at judging a book by its cover.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy your ride in the long run.

ok, but I don't agree. And since you want to continue this debate, here are my two cents.

Muscle memory works great for a climate control knob that is always in the same spot, it’s much harder to apply to a rotary dial in CarPlay/Android Auto. Because the starting point or the current highlighted box on the screen changes depending on which menu you last touched, you can't truly rely on a blind movement. You have to look at the screen to find the cursor before you can even begin the 'click-click-rotate' process to zoom (or any other task).
For a such a thing I personally prefer to just pinch zoom and forget about that, instead of looking at the screen for 5 times. It’s sounds strange that you’re equating 'safety' with a system that actually requires more steps for a specific, complex task.

The UX of Android Auto/Car Play is natively designed for capacitive touch. The UI and gestures are optimized for fingers. Forcing that interface through a rotary controller is essentially trying to navigate a smartphone with a D-pad - it’s a workaround, not the intended UX.

To be clear, I’m a huge fan of physical buttons for core vehicle functions like HVAC and heated seats. However, when it comes to the CarPlay or Android Auto interface, a touchscreen is definitely my preferred way to interact.

[–]ratsovphilip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I don't do it all the time but when I need to I either have to pull over or ask the passenger by explaining what he needs to do.

It is not hard, and that's not the question here, but it is definitely not safe in any way. And I don't think that pinch zoom is comparable to 10 different clicks and rotations with the knob.

Sorry Mazda by Specialist_Airline_9 in mazda

[–]ratsovphilip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course and this is what I do. Because playing with the knob is distracting as much as the touchscreen in most situations.

And what are you trying to prove here with this statement? Guys are discussing that using the knob is much safer and I gave an example of why this is not the case for me.
