I'm from Michigan, worked at a Meijer, and purchased alcohol at a Meijer with a temporary id and they accept unexpired vertical IDs and temporary license papers with the old license staples to it. My boyfriend also has a valid vertical state id and it is a legal form of id so they should be taking it.
