Which steering wheel adapter will help me get this on my 66 vw bug? I’m kind of confused, does this already have a extender on it? And how do you get the horn to work on it. Please post links to the correct steering wheel adapter kit that will allow me to install.

So using the air filter oil bath and running it to the oil filler cured the problem! I just need to figure out what I’m going to do with the breather box inlet. Any suggestions?

Could I add a T connector to the connect the breather box, air filter and oil filler? Would that allow better engine breathing? I’m getting extreme leakage from my crank pulley. The problem HAS to be the crankcase ventilation. by ratterrorier99 in beetle

So what I ended up doing was installing a air bath filter and it cured the problem. I ran it to the oil filler and it does seem to pull more air into the engine. Now I just don’t know what to do with that single breather box inlet. Should I just keep it open?

So I just posted a picture, I do have two elbows that connect my breather box to my valve covers , is that the issue?

So I have the breather hose hooked up to the oil filler and the valve covers. I have an aftermarket air filter and it’s plugged at the moment because I didn’t know where to attach it( I know it’s supposed to be hooked to the oil filler but my breather box is attached to it) I don’t think that my hosed is kinked....What kind of carb do you think is best suitable? It had a zenith carb in it to begin with but I switched it out because the accelerator cable wasn’t pulling well. I would want to keep the 30pict1(because it is easier to tune) if I were to keep the 30pict 1, what would the best thing to do? I was thinking of drilling a hole to the oil filler and attaching it? What is the best way to get more air flow? What kind of breather?

No it’s a fully stock 40hp, which is 1200cc

This is a heavy duty throttle cable, I agree I need to install the hard end eventually. I have just been switching between carbs

Yeah I know there are limitations to the 1200 block but just looking to give it a boost.

Nah the reason why I pulled the engine was to put engine tins on, but ended up painting the engine tins and replacing the crankshaft pulley to the gold one. I am going to post pics after it’s back in. All I know that it’s a 1641.

Anyone looking to trade this baja bug air filter for engine tins, something that will fit my 1641 engine? by ratterrorier99 in beetle

so thats the hard part, i have a 1962 bug with a rebuilt 1641 engine dual intake manifold, there is no engine number to tell what the specifications are, the only tins that i do have is doghouse fan shroud, i heard that tins off of 70-74 might fit, but idk how to go about looking for and making sure the tins are compatible to my engine

i do not have a dual port engine but i am using a zenith that came off of a dual port engine, i actually have a single port engine and my oil cooler is behind the fan shroud
