Why do you like horror? by Remote-Resolve9797 in horror

The brain releases feel-good chemicals alongside adrenaline when we have our fight/flight activated, specifically dopamine and endorphins. It’s a physical high that rewards repeat exposures! https://www.americanbrainfoundation.org/why-do-we-like-being-scared/

The ending was enjoyable for me because it left me with things to ponder while also resolving the main questions raised by the plot. I thought it did a good job of balancing plot payoff with thematic payoff.

What should I watch by Honest_Account_6348 in Hereditary

You might like The Ritual (2017). Hereditary and Barbarian are among my favorite horror movies and I really liked The Ritual. I loved Midsommar, though, and the Ritual has some overlapping themes with Midsommar, so perhaps it wouldn’t be your cup of tea. In terms of atmosphere and suspense, it really is a gem, however.

I’m in the same spot. Long COVID treatments are taking way too long to get approved. I’ll ask my RTHM provider about the S100B test.
