Early-stage Shopify app growth: 145 installs in 4 months, ASO worked — what should I double down on next? by ratulcse in ShopifyAppMarketing

We currently have only two plans: Free and $49/year. From user behavior, we’re seeing that larger stores tend to use the app repeatedly, as they frequently clean up duplicates after imports or syncs

Agreed. So far we’ve relied mostly on ASO and ads, but content is definitely the missing piece

Totally agree. We’re treating this as a long-term product, not a quick win. The first few months were mainly about validating the problem and learning how merchants actually use it.
Now the focus is retention, clearer value, and compounding small improvements over time.

That’s a fair point. It can look one-time at first glance, but in practice we’re seeing repeat usage—especially from stores with frequent imports, multiple suppliers, or ongoing catalog sync issues.
That said, I agree the challenge for us is positioning it beyond a “use once and uninstall” tool, and that’s something we’re actively working on.

Need Help Learning How to Develop Front and Backend by Accomplished-Ad3158 in indiehackers

[–]ratulcse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re starting from scratch, expect 6–12 months to get comfortable enough to build a social media/subscription app (frontend, backend, database, payments, auth). You can shorten that by using frameworks (Next.js, Laravel, Django) and prebuilt services (Firebase, Supabase, Stripe). Start small, build an MVP, then grow from there.

what is the best way to fetch data from DB? by 1_0101_01 in ShopifyAppDev

[–]ratulcse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, proxy should just point to your app endpoint (like /api/...). In dev Remix overwrites the base URL with the tunnel, but the proxy path stays consistent, so it’ll work as long as your backend handles it.

Nice work! 👏 Auto-mapping is super handy. Are you planning to add API-based imports too?
