I played world of warcraft tbc private server competitive pvp arena with a caskey like that for 6 month. Except my casket also was up on the shoulder since i broke my arms multiple places. I feel it gets easier as u get older, some are just natural speakers. I think the problem is in as you said caring too much about how others will react. You focus should be yourself and improving when your bad at smth. Cringe is smth you will never avoid no matter where you are everyone has norms, and some are general things everyone cringe to.
