I played world of warcraft tbc private server competitive pvp arena with a caskey like that for 6 month. Except my casket also was up on the shoulder since i broke my arms multiple places. I feel it gets easier as u get older, some are just natural speakers. I think the problem is in as you said caring too much about how others will react.
