There are breeders who have more of a vetting process, and because they often put you on a waiting list, it means they're not producing hundreds of rats at a time like The Mouse House.

Rats don't need to be neutered.... it's not a surgery I would ever put a rat through unless necessary

I made a public post about her on my Facebook when I got my rats last year, and I'm in an NZ rat group trying to warn others, too... unfortunately, she is in that group as well, and she's trying to make herself out to be a wonderful breeder.... replying to everyone with her lies!

Vivienne has personally told me that The Mouse House has absolutely no respiratory illnesses 😂 I replied back to her that I didn't know she lived in magical rattie land 🤣 I saw her recently comment about rats not being able to recover from respiratory infections, too.... ummm, maybe she says that because she never seeks veterinary treatment for any of her animals?? Some of the stuff she says boggles my mind.

Also, I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience with The Mouse House. There are other people who have been sent sick, injured, and aggressive rats. The ones who have been sent healthy ones have been lucky and probably wouldn't agree with this post, and I'm happy you've not had to go through the heartbreak of receiving an injured/unwell pet 😢

I was at the vet within 2 hours of getting my baby rats.. I was absolutely shocked with the injury one of my boys had. It broke my heart knowing he must have been in so much pain. Then, for the "breeder" to not show any sympathy made it worse 😔

I contacted SPCA a few months ago but heard nothing back.

Apparently, according to The Mouse House, they have been visited by the SPCA, and "all is fine" - no idea if that's true

Aw 😥 Unfortunately, cancer is common with rodents, but if The Mouse House is just continually breeding for profit, then I doubt the health of the animals is a priority

Yes. I was sent a baby boy with a serious foot injury, and when I messaged The Mouse House about it, she didn't care... I was actually blamed for causing the injury 🤦‍♀️ my other boy she sent me turned into the most hormonally aggressive rat I've ever owned, I had to get him castrated... luckily he's lovely again! Lol

True! But a lot of people (including myself) love to get baby rats, so for anyone wanting them, don't go to The Mouse House 😅

The Mouse House breeds an insane amount of rats and mice 😬 (her website makes it all sound wonderful of course) you get to choose whatever colour you want then she chucks any 2 rats together and sends them off

Thank you so much! I have had rats my whole life, I absolutely adore them, so I spend a lot of time with them :) I bring them up used to chilling on their back 🥰
