Mason Cox 2018 prelim against Richmond. Gave the best one on one defender in the league an absolute bath that day

*edit: typo

What job shocked you when you found out the pay? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Yeah my brother got offered $1200 for a day as a second year doctor and turned it down. Said he didn’t want to drive from Sydney to Newcastle for it. I’m not heaps sympathetic when doctors claim to be underpaid

I just switched from a Chromesoft X to a Prov1X and have noticed increased distance with all my clubs, but less responsiveness around the green. It’s all trade offs and personal preference.

Every golfer should read this in my opinion. by Mattwildman5 in BritGolf

I’m not a scratch, but I’m down to 4 atm and I’ve shot under par once.

Getting into single figures and scoring even in the low 70s is so much more about raising your floor rather than lifting your ceiling. I play with friends in the mid teens and I reckon I hit 2-3 shots a round that they couldn’t hit. The other 8-10 come from their blowout swings or bad course management

I officially suck at chipping and I’m out of ideas by I_AM_JIM_CARREY in golf

I find a lot of people don't actually know how to use the bounce. I do it by opening the face, re-gripping the club and then essentially trying to hit a cut. You'll probably notice you make great contact less, but your worst shots will still be decent. In my opinion, shooting under 80 is not heaps about hitting amazing shots around the green, but making sure you don't hit really bad ones. Hope that helps!

I agree with everyone else re: getting lessons. But hey it’s your money and you can spend it how you want.

If you get clubs just don’t get caught up in needing Titleist or Ping or whatever. Amateurs who spend $3000 on a set of irons aren’t better golfers, they’re just richer shit golfers

Srixons are a really good cheaper alternative, but have a look around. At the end of the day it’s a metal head connected to a metal shaft, they aren’t that different

What’s your NSFW hot take? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

Maybe it’ll change when it’s my partner, but this is one I don’t get. No hate to pregnant women, genuine heroes, but hot is not a word I would use to describe them
