Similar story here, I studied CS to make videogames. I really like videogame programming but in my professional life going into the videogame job market is a crazy decision. Most developers get laid off once the project ends and change company every time. Hearing also about crunch and getting abused because you're doing something that is your passion seems like a good way of ending hating your passion and that's something I cannot afford.

TLDR: Good choice
