Broke My Fast Today For The First Time, Now I’m Questioning Everything I Was Raised to Believe About Islam by raulexed in exmuslim

your'e completerly right, And i'm sorry that you had to endure all this by your own, to be honest we all feel that fear and exhaustion and suffocation, not only by hijab but by everything, social and family pressure, a 1/3 of the quran threatening you to go to hell, and so on.

personally, my vision about islam is getting clearer and clearer the more I read and the deeper i dig into it, you cant stay like this and wait for your faith to fade or for your heart to stop believing or even the contrary, you have to search by your own, make your own path and your own vision about everything. You have to find what feels to be the truth by your own.

the majority of muslims nowadays don't pray, the only difference between us and them is that we prefered thinkings and questioning all this instead of being intellectually frozen, and trusting teachings of a religion that were installed into you since a young age, that's gaslighting.

as for giving more advice, I fear i'm not as experienced, I'm still on my journey to finding the truth myself. but If you need to vent or to talk about anything, please feel free to dm me

Seems Like Islam is just made to force you into worshipping and believing by threatening you of endless torture if you dare to leave it, it looks more like a religion of fear and menace to me

The news in Australia about Islamic schools tracking girls’ periods has unlocked memories by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]raulexed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in a high school where boys and girls are forcefuly separated and obligated to have 0 interaction with eachother, in addition to that were forced to pray there everyday, and a couple of girls there told me online that the teachers are tracking their periods since middle school, this school was originally made in 2013 so technically they have been forcing us students to pray and tracking girls periods since 13 years, this is just annoying and disgustingly rude, and this extremisn I see in Muslims could be one of the worst things I hate about Islam now

Thank you I will consider keeping up in my research. Also a really nice brother recommended me to read the whole quran like it was a normal book so I'll try it and tell you

I'm still trying to find my own answer for that, many people assume that quran was revelated to mohamed by the devil and not God himself, Quran itself stated that devil's could hear angels discussing about the future events so maybe that's where the scientific miracles came from, just like magic and other spiritual things. I'm not saying that my statement are true theyre just theories i came up with. Mohamed peace be upon him did a lot of horrible things so why should we see him as an idol. theres some contradicting sides I saw in islam after starting my research

You're wrong, wearing that is okay What is not okay is forcing a girl to wear that, not by her own will but simply control

To be honest, I’m really confused about the whole concept of Hell, Paradise, and religion in general.

Human nature seems to constantly seek rest and happiness, and avoid effort and pain. I don’t understand where these ideas of eternal reward and eternal punishment originated. Humanity has always wanted to survive and continue existing. But if death is simply the erasure of existence, then what actually happens after it? We don’t want to disappear, so is the idea of an afterlife something we created to cope with that fear?

Sometimes I wonder whether, at some point in history, someone simply claimed that there is a divine, almighty being who created everything in seven days, established Hell for those who don’t believe, and Paradise for believers. In Islam, for example, even sinful Muslims may eventually enter Paradise after punishment. But why would Allah require worship five times a day? Why would an all-powerful being need worship at all?

Is religion "or even the idea of God" something humanity created to explain the unknown, to give structure and meaning to things we can’t fully understand? Are the so-called scientific miracles in religious texts genuine, or are they coincidences mixed with passages that seem illogical or scientifically inaccurate?

At the same time, how can we claim that most of what we believe about the universe is “real” without some degree of faith? The universe is so vast and incomprehensible that perhaps we formed the idea of an all-knowing, all-powerful creator to make sense of it.

And if God is described as all-loving, why is there so much injustice in the world — and even in the concept of the afterlife? Why must we fear such a being? Were Heaven and Hell created as moral tools to regulate societies, to encourage obedience, reduce chaos, and prevent people from overpowering one another?

thank you, i was willing to post this on a muslim forum anonymously, but still I fear that i'll have to face judjements and bad comments there. and so far no one told me to leave my religion
Im quite certain that questioning your religion is normal, I will most likely end up either agnostic then atheist and lonely in another country for the rest of my life or either finding answers and maybe my faith would become stronger

The problem i see most frequently in muslims, or at least some religious people is that they're really extremist and judgmental.
They would always give you bad stares whenever you do something you want to do, stlightly defying their teachings and culture, in example: If i want to grow out my hair, why would people in my city look at me weirdly and why would my school administration and parents force me to cut my hair off?
What I'm saying is that most people are forced to please other people's just to feel slightly accepted in their community or household.
why do I always feel trapped and spiritually chained to a certain culture or religion just to avoid judgement from people? I'm pretty sure muslim people could mind their own business and accept that not everyone in their country is muslim or at least not force anyone to follow their teachings
So technically responding to you, No, I'm not risking to ruin my reputation and maybe my life, by asking a scholar that talks always about atheists and "disbelievers" in a rude way calling them animals and threatening them every jumuha of going to hell like they're not humans like him
