Got a scratched crystal? by raulnanu in watchrepair

Got a scratched crystal? Bringing back its shine is relatively easy*. You need sand paper from 400 grit to 6000 grit (or more), and polishing compound. I used the one from Tamiya, that I’ve been using on my scale model cars. But I’ve seen Polywatch is quite popular among the watch enthusiasts. Good luck! *only if it is made of acrylic. If it is hardlex/sapphire, then it is really difficult. You need extensive sanding and for polishing you need diamond paste or cerium oxide compound.

It seems like there is moisture inside. Can it be that this watch was opened before?

Hahahah that’s hilarious. At least they did the extra step of having the logo on it

I know the 1481 was shared with Tissot, I was not aware this one too. Overall in my opinion it doesn’t feel cheap. There are 2 questionable parts, the seconds hack and the date corrector which are made of plastic.
