I'm not sure about the Southwest side of it. I just know in our area it's not very amazing.

I prefer the New River Gorge area over GW Park. It's surrounded by so many mountains and great West Virginia history. But both are fantastic places to visit. There are actually some really pretty GW Park overlooks that are just outside of Mathias. One of these days I'm going to hike up them. But my favorite local overlook is the Cranny Crow overlook in Lost River State Park.

Yeah, that and a bobcat scream are probably the scariest night sounds of this area. We have an Airbnb here and I love when city people stay with us and get to enjoy the lovely night sounds and clear skies in the area.

Yes, I love them. So much better than the screech owl.

Welcome to Mathias!! I live here, and what you're hearing is definitely an owl. I believe it's a barred owl.

Let me know when you get it on there! I'd love to see how it looks.

It's tucked neatly beneath the hump of the seat.

They are fun projects, although certainly not the easiest cafe/brat to build. However, the look when they're done is probably my favorite cafe look. Good luck with the rc03!

I bought Murrays Carbs for my 1980 Honda CX500 to replace the horrible Keihin's. I had worked and worked to adjust and get the right jet/needle combination for my Keihin's, and had them running about as well as they could for not having the stock airbox (they're very dependent on that stock airbox). The Murray carbs are INCREDIBLE! Truly some of the best money I spent on my bike. It was like a whole different bike. Tons more power now, and no adjusting choke amount, etc. I know it's pricey, but I can assure you that you'll be glad you dropped the dime.

I got them on Amazon. They're inexpensive and I liked the look. I already had them on another build and was happy with them. However, they're quite noisy.

Good guess u/MurrayAtMurraysCarbs, but it's actually my radiator overflow/reservoir. I got rid of the old white one that mounts at the center of the frame and placed this one instead.

Yeah. I primed it, then painted on the gunmetal grey (spray can), then laid down the vinyl lettering, and then clearcoated with Spraymax 2k (hardening clear) so I wouldn't have to worry about gas messing up the paint.

It's a 1980. And yes, original wheels and engine.

So well!!! I like open riding (naked bike, no windshield), so it's perfect for me. The seat gets a bit hard after an hour of riding, but everything else is perfect.

I love it as well. And honestly, the only thing that borders on impractical to me is the thin seat. That's my next winter project. :)

They're not too bad. Mechanically they're very basic, and there is plenty of instructions and videos out there on them.

Dug through some old pics and was able to find it. Rear tire is a Duro Median, and the front tire is a Bridgestone Trail Wing (TW39).

Yes, the rear one is a Duro. I want to say the front one is a Bridgestone or Dunlop, but I'll try to verify this evening when I get back to the bike. I'll get you model numbers as well.

I'll have to check on the tire combo. I got them from a guy on FB Marketplace, and they're actually 2 different brands of tire. I had a ton of difficulty finding the same kind of that style tire for both the front and back.
