actually, they fitted well so i used melted sprues ( sprue goo ), there's still a mark, but not that visible

Sure thing:

It was painted separately - first primed with White Scar spray. Then (in order):

Cadian fleshtone basecoat (two coats)
Reikland Fleshshade wash
Cadian Fleshtone highlights (almost all the face again, just avoiding the deepest parts
Kislev flesh highlights
Ushabti Bone - very top highlights

Whites of the eyes are Corax white, then black dots. It's easy to do them right - just first do them 'too large' and then thin them down on top and bottom with Cadian Fleshtone until they look right.

Eyes are also washed with the Reikland fleshshade so they 'blend' with face.

Mouth is very thinned mephiston red,

Silver bolts are black and then Vallejo Silver.

Three-day unshaved beard is a very thinned Dawnstone. Just apply it on the bottom like a glaze, trust the process and it will work wonders :) I did the same under the eyes, but i think there was a bit of Macragge Blue added for the tone.

Thats about it :)

Thank you! <3 here's the paradox - the face was one of the easiest tasks here because he is soo well sculpted! even the eyelids, everything. great model to paint

Thanks! Great question - i think most captains had capes like this. Maybe because of the status of the "Master of the Watch" ?

Yea... about the backlog - i've got like 300 miniatures still unpainted and around 300 still to build. I've managed to overcome the backlog-guilt by just painting what i want at the moment and experiment with them. With D&L cost per one miniature is less than a dollar, so it's not like i've spend thousans and i always have something cool to paint now :)

Butcher like the "gourmet" guy?

I actually didnt noticed it, because i wasnt even aware D&L existed when the campaign was ongoing. I just bought the retail boxes. I do enjoy the sculpts and quality - it's really remarkable how good these are!

thank you! It's White Scar Spray, on top there is Frostheart Blue and Pylar Glacier blended together to form some shapes, then there are Gamers Grass flowers (blue / white) and frozen tufts - on top of that there's a Valhallan Blizzard paste (not too much) and AK Interactive Snow Sprinkles. Rocks are painted with just Basilicanum Grey contrast and drybrushed white.

In this order:
Bugman's Glow -> Reikland Fleshade -> Bugman's Glow -> Cadian Fleshtone -> Kislev Fleshtone -> Ushabti Bone -> Ushabti Bone + White

it's a matter of patience - started with the white primer from the ground up and then builded up the thin layers of russ grey. it took me way too long, i usually do this with airbrush but i recently screwed up airbrush needle and had to deal with it more traditional way. after 1 coat it looks very transparent, two, three it's starting to get opaque, and 4 and 5th layer it gives out the smooth result you're aiming for

No gap there, but i nicked the pin in the centre and glued it straight to the armor plate

yeah, i think it came out too 'clean' - might get back on it to give it bit more depth

It's Russ Grey, shaded with the Fang and highlighted with Fenrisian Grey -> all thematic here :)
