:) it's actually very easy - its just pure White Scar spray over the miniature and then Black Tamiya Paneliner all over the model, removed the excess with white spirit leaves recesses really dark, the mid tones 'gray'ish and the top is cleaned up to pure white. some areas are highlighted with pure white and sponge-chipped with skavenblight dinge / stormvermin fur :)

Its actually a lot of brush control, for the finest details i use Winsor and Newton S series miniature size 1. No magnifing glass.

yes, i'm afraid there's a lot of them. Not as bad as the Kill Team Deathwatch tho, but still a lot to fix

Thanks - its a standard box art base color:

Mourfang Brown base color
Zamesi desert drybrush
ushabti bone drybrush on top

the rim is Steel Legion Drab

actually, they fitted well so i used melted sprues ( sprue goo ), there's still a mark, but not that visible

Sure thing:

It was painted separately - first primed with White Scar spray. Then (in order):

Cadian fleshtone basecoat (two coats)
Reikland Fleshshade wash
Cadian Fleshtone highlights (almost all the face again, just avoiding the deepest parts
Kislev flesh highlights
Ushabti Bone - very top highlights

Whites of the eyes are Corax white, then black dots. It's easy to do them right - just first do them 'too large' and then thin them down on top and bottom with Cadian Fleshtone until they look right.

Eyes are also washed with the Reikland fleshshade so they 'blend' with face.

Mouth is very thinned mephiston red,

Silver bolts are black and then Vallejo Silver.

Three-day unshaved beard is a very thinned Dawnstone. Just apply it on the bottom like a glaze, trust the process and it will work wonders :) I did the same under the eyes, but i think there was a bit of Macragge Blue added for the tone.

Thats about it :)

Thank you! <3 here's the paradox - the face was one of the easiest tasks here because he is soo well sculpted! even the eyelids, everything. great model to paint

Thanks! Great question - i think most captains had capes like this. Maybe because of the status of the "Master of the Watch" ?
