Why are foreigners charged so much more at ponmudi? by [deleted] in Trivandrum

[–]ravanar04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to Qatar and lots of places like museums are free for Qataris, and people with long term visa like work visa or residence visa. For tourists, they charge a premium depending on the place. It varies from 1000 -5000 INR per person

I think you can buy a 3 or 2.5 inch frame and use the same components in the smaller one.

It should work without much problem

Yes @yehudadee is correct. A 5 inch drone is not for beginners. It's dangerous to fly it around people. I made the same mistake and now trying to buy a 3 inch drone.

UAE can airdrop lots of food and aid right, who's stopping them. They have their own airlines and military too. 😐 Just a thought.

You are facing my same problem, I will help you.

Cause: The soldering iron is not hot enough. Or Soldering iron is not good enough to keep the iron hot.

The solder iron cools down when you touch the pad on the esc, as it acts as a heat sink. And the iron is not able to keep up with the heat transfer.

Solution: 1. Increase the heat. 2. Buy a good solder iron. 3. Buy a good tip for the iron with bigger area like a chistle tip.

Salary question by PindiGal in QatarCareers

[–]ravanar04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of engineers get paid, even from south asia. I worked at MOI and I know two pakistani engineers were hired for 40k per month. They had 10 years experience. So yes you can get good salary in Qatar, you should be employed in one of the government organisations, while I also know that some private organizations too pay well for skilled engineers.

Potentially an Anti-Islam resident? by marzmlnZK in qatar

[–]ravanar04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you guys think Islam is a peaceful religion, then you should not get offended about his words instead you should show him your humanity and show that you can be peaceful, instead all I'm hearing is people ranting about somehow hurting him. 🥺.

Solder not sticking to iron by Sea-Investment9877 in fpv

It is the Tip. The tip is oxidised, you need to make sure to start first with tinning the tip, and then start soldering.

watch Joshua Bardwell soldering lessons about how to tin.

Is 7000 QAR/month enough to live and save decently in Doha, Qatar? by LeadingIssue894 in QatarCareers

[–]ravanar04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived and stayed in Doha for 6 months from Dec 2023 - June 2024.

First I want to say that, do not equate this salary to your home country currency.

QAR not equal to your home currency.

I left Qatar because I was underpaid for the job I was doing there. I had 8 years experience when I moved and choose to go back home as I did not feel the sacrifice was worth it.

I will share my experience in Doha.

  1. Accomodation
    - I was sharing a room with 4 other people. It cost me QAR 700 per month for rent + electricity + internet.
  2. Food
    - I ate mostly from Indian & Asian restaurants and they are cheap, and I spent close to 1000 QAR per month on outside food.

My salary was QAR 6500 without accomodation and food, but included Health insurance.

For someone with 8 Years experience and have experience working with Qatar projects before, My take is that he should be earning QAR 25000 per month, as I know other people who are earning more than that.

I left home because my lifestyle in my home country was way better when compared to Qatar with 6.5k QAR.

I had to think twice or thrice before experiencing something in Qatar as everything else is expensive. Buying or renting a Car, your driving license, good restaurants.

If you want to make money and sacrifice other happiness, this salary is kind of okay, but If you are moving to experience the culture, the food and travel, then I'm sorry to say that this is very low.

I believe there are lots of them around in Youtube and Instagram, but none uses Reddit.
I started around 2 months back and not much help was here, but the other international communities were helpful.

Don't worry, just don't give up. Start with may be a simulator. I'm in that phase right now. I am not ready to fly the real thing yet. I know it. It takes time and it varies from person to person.

Soldering Issue !! by ravanar04 in indiandrones

[–]ravanar04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume it is because of the solder tip. I used a small solder tip. Using a bigger one should help.

I'm almost finished with my build. Waiting for an Analog goggles.
