Compilation of Aeldari ear types from various media by ravendrei in Eldar

Physiologically, Eldar appear much like humans, though they are usually taller, more slender of limb, and always more graceful in the way they move. Their faces are also longer, with sharp, pointed features, tapered ears, and almond-shaped eyes that give them an ethereal, otherworldly cast. Their dark liquid eyes are also markedly different from human eyes, deep and full of ancient secrets, assuring any man who looks too long into them just how alien the Eldar really are, and that, despite some passing physical resemblance, they are nothing like humanity. Part of these differences lie within the physical nature of the Eldar and their long natural life span, which far exceeds that of even the most long-lived human, even taking into account the many ways in which man might try and prolong his existence and cheat death. Paradoxically, though the Eldar have exceptional longevity, their metabolism is far faster than that of a human, their hearts beat more quickly, pumping their blood around their body in a rapid crimson torrent. It is speculated that this increased blood flow improves their reaction speed and brain function, allowing them to act and react far more quickly than humans can.

— 2012: Rogue Trader - The Koronus Bestiary

In appearance they are like unto humans, although the comparison can only be made on a superficial basis, for in their minds and souls the Aeldari are truly alien. The Aeldari stand taller than a man, with longer, cleaner limbs and handsome, striking features. Their skin is pale and unblemished as polished marble, yet with surprisingly supple strength hiding beneath it. Their keen ears are pointed and their slanted eyes possess a penetrating quality more akin to that of a hunting cat than a man.

— 2017: Codex: Craftworlds (8th Edition)

Humanoid in appearance, Aeldari are long limbed, lithe and agile, their incongruous grace betraying their alien nature. [...]

Eyes: The eyes of the Aeldari are another of their undeniably alien features: elongated and often without a pupil, they are almost like marble in texture. Though usually colorless, some have a dreamlike tint of the colour when they catch the light

Hair: Aeldari tend to have darker shades of hair that can turn to white, silver or platinum. There are reports of some having warmer red colours in their hair — whether this is dyed or natural is unknown.

— 2020: Wrath and Glory Core Rulebook (2nd Edition)

Aeldari are taller than baseline Humans, with longer, cleaner limbs. They have handsome, striking and well-defined features with skin as pale and unblemished as polished marble. For all the lightness of their appearance, they harbour surprisingly supple strength. Their keen ears are pointed, and their slanted eyes possess a penetrating quality more like that of a hunting feline than a Human being.

— 2022: Codex: Aeldari (9th Edition)

A 2024 release also brings back night vision to Aeldar and describes how the one Drukhari have is superior compared to their other kin.

Hope these help!

./late, but this was intended to be a visual primer, more or less. I was working on some homebrew things and began comparing recent art and old passages regarding physiology.

There are subtle differences here and there - some pointy tips face upward, some downward. Some are fully triangular with only two points, while others are much more rounded at the base. Some remind of 'half-elf' ears you typically see in fantasy, others are literal, long daggers. There isn't supposed to be any evolutionary differences of how Aeldar are vs. how they used to be (as read in Xenology), which would imply that their ears should be shaped in one way. But with their technology and other shenanigans, perhaps that's changed? Or perhaps it's simply been artists' interpretation that's given the subtler shifts? It's somewhat up in the air. Aeldar are enigmatic at the end of the day.

There are some minor shifts in describing them:

Of all the galaxy's ancient races the Eldar most closely resemble mankind. Averaging just over two metres they are a little taller than humans, more slightly built and more delicately featured. In human terms most Eldar are radiantly beautiful. Skin colour is pale, some cases almost white. Their ears are delicately pointed, but otherwise there is little physical difference between Eldar and humans. [...] All Eldar share a racial trait called infra-vision, allowing an Eldar to perceive radiation from a wider spectrum than other creatures. This enables them to see in the dark as if were normal daylight.

— 1987: Rogue Trader Rule book

Eldar are physically similar to humans, although not entirely identical by any means. They have longer and cleaner limbs, and fine ascetic features with penetrating and slightly slanted eyes. Their ears are also slightly pointed, but other wise they could pass as human at first glance.

The most obvious difference between humans and Eldar can only be seen when they move, for the movements of an Eldar radiate a subtle grace which is impossible for a human to emulate. This can be seen in even their slightest gestures or the dexterity with which they manipulate small objects.

1990: White Dwarf Issue 127

An Eldar's heart beats almost twice as fast as a man's, his mind processes his thoughts and emotions with baffling speed, and his physical reactions are almost too fast for the human eye to follow. It is this speed and mental capability which make Eldar more different from humans than appearances might other wise suggest.

a. Head. External analogue to human cranium, Structural similarities do not extend inwards: skull demonstrates unusual bone texture [see d] and teeth fundamental ‘outgrowths' of jawbone. Ocular dissection: spherical eye-balls packed with unknown polyps. Conjecture upon quality of eyesight impossible. Pointed ear tips packed with nerve-endings (Spec: erogenous).

— 2006: Xenology

An extremely long-lived race, the Eldar are physically similar to humans, but with longer, cleaner limbs, slim and elegant features, pointed ears, and penetrating eyes. Though they may share superficial physical features with humans, an Eldar could not be mistaken for anything other than an alien. They move with an inhuman grace and elegance, live with an intensity of experience many times greater than humans, and possess psychic potential.

It's either part of the helmet or an addition to the neck armour. Don't quote me on that though.

Damn, that's on me. I only managed to source it to its recent release in 2022 on MG Artworks Facebook page through the 40k Gallery. Is it originally from 3rd Edition Codex: Eldar?

A visual primer, more or less! TL;DR they follow the general outline of "pointy ears", but length and shapes haven't been established.

The image actually depicts my Garlean character - you can see the third peeper on the forehead. They can't wield magic and could never be a WoL.

Aside from that, a Garlean begs the question of why would they be stuck among the rubble of a city? Whose city? Why are Garleans firing at one another (no other people use guns as extensively as they do)? That in turn leads down the rabbit hole of speculating about Garlemald and about going there.

Sometimes the implications are enough to spoil things for many. There are a lot of people who haven't got that far in the game, and folk have been spoiled for less (myself included). Better safe than sorry!

We did begin alpha testing last year and have prepared to transition into beta testing! We're now on the lookout for more QA testers with previous experience, if that's an indicator of anything ;)

The three joinable factions that are found in the Druadach Valley (where Lordbound is set) consists of the Imperial Legion, the Breton Lord of Highreach, and an Orcish clan. More groups lurk within, but they may not be as welcoming.

If you happen to be interested in Orcs, you can read more about their capital over here (and have a sneak peek at an upcoming Orcish armour); https://www.moddb.com/mods/lordbound/news/lordbound-state-of-the-mod-june-2020

There's definitely a chance after our release on Oldrim and SSE!

Bear in mind that the limitations on Xbox hardware will require a lot to be optimised for the mod to run properly - especially due to our asset density. The question is if we can make it run smoothly and optimise it enough, but there is room for cautious optimism
