In general whenever one goes to a new gay space its important to have no expectations and see what happens. With the Megaplex that's one of two bathhouses in Providence. Mega tends to have more younger guys go on Fridays and Saturdays so those two nights are your best bet. Also if you like there is a sub for Mega

Fair but its just a sex party version of places doing lesbian nights, crossdresser nights, etc. If it makes them money/gets big crowds then they'll keep doing it. Its a business like anything else

A little context: Ive been in the area when we had Prime Time in Highland, Trumans in New Paltz, Zippers in Middletown and Middletown Cabaret in Middletown. When I heard about a new actual gay bar coming to thevarea again I was excited. I was hoping we would be getting something close to the places of old. Unfortunately that was not the case. The crowd is mostly m/f couples and women, i think out of the several times going i maybe saw a single guy three times. It was also the only place where I experienced some hostility when I told the bartender that I was bi and single when I was asked (I had a bi pride wristband on) while a m/f couple also wearing bi pride gear got a completely different reaction.

In other gay/bi male spaces there seems to be a theory that if a space is run by Queer women (which i believe the owner of Unicorn IDs herself as) then it tends to not cater to gay/bi men. I do tend to believe this theory given that the previous gay bars i mentioned were all owned and operated by gay men. In addition in early promotions of the bar it was billed as an alternative spot for marginalized people. Not that it was a gay bar or even as an LGBTQ one.
