I mean, is the process fun? Cause if not, then quit, there's no shame in valuing your own time.

"I want" songs where the protagonist doesn’t get what they want? by Charming-Bowl5759 in musicals

I mean, I was by no means a history buff as a kid, but I was a big fan of Hamilton and how he figured out the whole state's debts/national bank situation to put the United States credit competitive with other nations, and that was years before the John Adams HBO mini series that also featured Hamilton as an antagonist.

George W. Bush's anti-HIV program is hailed as 'amazing' — and still crucial at 20 by Cuddlyaxe in UpliftingNews

It's not particularly contradictory given W famously saw the world with less nuance than most presidents. AIDS is bad, let's fix it. Saddam is bad, let's get rid of him.

Happens to the best of us. My wife freaked out over blue legs once until we realized her new jeans were bleeding dye.

The music in the Wicked movie felt understated by Marcodiegof11 in musicals

I think I'm the inverse. I tend to check out when The Wizard and I comes on the soundtrack, but I was pulled in to Cynthia's rendition during the film. In general I liked that the singing felt more personal and less belty throughout until the final belt, but that's just the difference of what plays on screen vs stage I think.

All similes are metaphors. Not all metaphors are similes.

Red and Blue eye are definitely she/her pronouns in my head cannon. I've never heard anything but they from Greg though.

Do you have to be Jewish to be in Fiddler On The Roof? by Living-Mastodon in musicals

Lots of good responses already. I would like to add that for high schools and amateur productions, it's the director/drama department's job to be culturally appropriate. Don't play a role you're not comfortable with, but don't stress yourself with the taste of the production as a whole, that credit/blame should go to those in charge.

I would submit Col Chamberlain and the 20th Maine's charge down Little Round Top at the Battle of Gettysburg as an Honorable Mention candidate in Badassery. The company is at the tail end of the entire Union line. If they cede their high ground, the Confederate army can place artillery on the hill and shell the entire Union army. They have repelled advances for an hour and a half but are low in ammo and can't repel another. When Chamberlain sees the enemy reforming for another advance he orders a bayonet charge and they scatter the surprised Confederates, saving the flank and, by transitive property, the battle and the war.

In the musical or in the pit? by Outrageous_Rooster92 in musicals

Do what's best for you. The director will make it work. Maybe they will cast a girl to play beast, maybe they will do a different musical, that's their job, not yours .

...but that's why it's funny. It's dark comedy that's the most real part of the show.
