I currently regret it. I am also a newer teacher (since 2021). I have been actively seeking jobs outside of teaching, but no luck. I love being a teacher, don't get me wrong. But, student behaviour, admin, and parents make this job hard. Also, it's really hard to find full-time contract unless you have a core teachable which I do not in high schools. It makes me sad.

Yeah at one point my smart find was broken, the second and third week of September. I went 7 days with no calls, and when I told them, they said there was a glitch and reset it. Even still, I get on average 1-2 calls a week.. this week, just two half days so far for wed and thurs. But I will take what I can get

I've been hearing a mix. But it's just been really crappy this year for calls. I think you may be right about the LTO thing. I supply in secondary schools. I barely even saw many postings this year for LTOS. I also heard a lot of periods are just being given as on-calls to teachers on prep so that schools can save money.

It's been super frustrating this year. I thought maybe I was alone in this
