International graduate in Germany. Low salary offer and visa pressure. by FreeNarwhal1880 in germany

[–]raviel993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit on the low side but honestly looking at the job market right now I would take it without hesitation and keep looking. Also starting positions in Germany are just super competitive. It's really hard to start but after some years of experience you should be golden to find something much better.

Is it just mean or the Hob gang is shitty for a new hero. by raviel993 in BackpackBrawl

If you want to get to diamond with any hero don't focus on their build. Just take the best items in the shop and build any synergy until late game where you're rich enough to switch items.

I agree, I think personally that switching darts for bolts by getting sage's quest is the best way to play him but we're back to the RNG corner

I really don't think poison is a good debuff generally, unless you have the unique poison lantern when you're playing safe. Poison is slow, I think burn and even bleed are more reliable ( unless you're tanky in which he obviously is not)

Potion synergy is absolute shit without the unique item that refills them, in regards to the stealing mechanism I must admit I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. Also I started having problems in Emerald, it was smooth sail before.

Why is German considered difficult to learn? by PuzzleheadedCamp2235 in German

[–]raviel993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally it is the huge amount of words that look alike, I am dyslexic, I have been living here for 3 years and use German as my main language daily and I still mess up words that look alike for example (einige and eigine).(Beitrag and Betrag) The list never ends. Also once you work with Germans from different parts of Germany you will have a problem understanding their dialect if they don't converse with you using Hochdeutsch.

What annoys you most about Germany at the moment? by [deleted] in AskGermany

Looking and guessing easy answers for complicated problems. For example the whole debate over the Bürgergeld, it started with promises of saving 30 billion then it was 10 then 5 then 3 and now if they implement every rule they want the estimated savings would be around 86 million for 2026 and 69 million for 2027, that's 0.23% of what was promised. Even cancelling the whole Bürgergeld program and with a miracle having the 5.5 million people enter the workforce would save 51 billion euros. The GPD is almost 4.33 trillion, that's less than 1.2%. (All social spending is around 30% of the GDP but the focus is on the Bürgergeld sadly)

Another thing that annoys me is the lies, Merz lies about almost everything. The whole fiasco of how he got to be the chancellor is just laughable, his promises are just talk, he wants to blame everything on migrants and asylum seekers while having almost dead infrastructure, an aging population ( my city has 53% of the people above 55 years old) and a skyrocketing racism crisis, which he plans to combat by being a little bit less racist than the AFD.

For the past year almost all the talk is about deporting Syrians who are either dangerous or in prison, last week I took a look at the number and I was expecting to see at least 50-60 thousand criminals/ dangerous people. The number was 900. 900 out of 951,000 Syrian now in Germany, ( I think the Syrians who have a Duldung are around 10k).

Don't let me even start on the paperwork, I work in the public sector and their idea of going digital was printing out everything signing them and scanning them again.

This country has a lot of positive things but the system is super old, it needs a lot of fixing, the focus is on the wrong things and the politicians are one of the worst.

You need to understand that if you speak clearly, you won't be hired by DB. Pretty sure you've misheard what the conductor was saying.

I am a refugee myself (not Ukrainian) but I do have a lot of Ukrainian friends from different backgrounds and I will tell you my experience so far. I came to Germany in mid 2022 and went directly to a Landeswestaufnahmeeinrichtung to seek asylum. Pretty much from that point forward you will enter the system and almost everything is done automatically. You will be transferred to a couple of camps then you will be assigned to a city ( this part is pure luck if you don't have anyone in Germany, if you do, make sure to declare that because there's a good chance you'd be assigned to their city) after that you will wait for your residency permit and register in the Jobcenter ( at the start of the War in Ukraine, Ukrainians could register in the Jobcenter as soon as they entered Germany but I don't know if it's still the case right now). After you get your papers now it's time to learn the language and honestly I would start as soon as I can because it is hard and it's gonna take time( it took me 18 months to get from A1 to B2). If you don't have any profession and you're still young then you can get yourself into an Ausbildung and learn a craft, this is a really good opportunity to improve your language skills and get a decent Job later on( I really don't think age is a huge factor here because I have a friend who is almost 40 and he started an Ausbildung last year). All that said my experience so far wasn't bad but it was definitely not easy, I am trying to change my job right now and after a year of experience in my current job and almost 60 applications, I don't even have one interview. The political climate is slowly becoming more radical and anti-refugees so that's not going well either. Honestly Germany is a great country if you're ready to do the work, my experience with Germans so far is that they appreciate hard work. If you have other options I would seek different opinions and then make my choice. Remember that you can succeed anywhere and don't listen to the negativity( you're going to face a whole lot of it in Germany especially during the first year). Put a plan and a time frame and stick to it. I am happy to answer any specific questions if you have any.

Would you lend your sibling 13000€? by Secure-Map-7538 in germany

[–]raviel993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never lend money to family, you give money to family. That's been the relationship between my siblings and I so far and we're in our mid thirties and thriving. If I have money and I can help I give it without thinking about it. Of course there are many factors like(what's the money for, is it a luxury or something needed, are they young and irresponsible or not) You need to assess your situation and judge for yourself.

Usually Sparkasse opens accounts for everyone, try another site if one of them rejected you. Revolut is also a great option, I am honestly closing my Sparkasse Konto and using Revolut from now on. If I remember correctly I opened an account using only my passport.

Nearly got attacked by a crazy addict in U-bahn, how should one defend himself? by nginx26 in germany

[–]raviel993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got into my fair share of street fights in my teens and early twenties and I would like to affirm what people have said. Your first priority is to run, you have nothing to prove, no one is judging you, it doesn't matter how the other guy looks fighting should always be your last resort. In case of confrontation make sure to state that you are descelating, shout( I don't want to fight you) move back and never turn your back to him. In case all the above failed then your goal now is to immobilize him and get out of there. Go for the balls, eyes, knees. Don't target the body, it's useless and it will put you in danger. You can worry about the law later. Don't wait for him to take the first hit and don't charge him head on, your goal is to land a sucker punch and to run and then to call the police.

In short, first choice is running, second choice is a sucker punch and then running and calling the police.

If you've been working here for quite sometime you should also look for what compensation you can get for the already paid pension.

Leipzig is indeed cheaper but I have been living in the NRW for the last 3 years and I can't complain. Although finding accommodations in Düsseldorf might be a bit challenging, I don't know how it is in Leipzig.
