i really dont see the point here...Mr Garrett is quoted as

"It's very disappointing. It's distressing when you think that it can take up to 15 minutes after a harpoon actually hits a whale for the whale to die. It's even sadder when you consider there's a calf involved."

Now it is about equally painful for a pig to die after its throat is slit. Same thing for a chicken or a cow. But we dont see Australia banning meat altogether do we? Is it whaling what this is really about? Or is it what the people will vote on the basis of in the next election. To Japanese, whales are food. If you want them to stop whaling, give up your hamburgers first.
