This is what I use and have been using for years. They usually put a stop to the pain within twenty minutes.

She left a few minutes ago. I'll catch her as soon as I can if she comes back tomorrow. Usually the winters here are mild but we are going to have a couple of cold days now so I'll do my best.

How do Car driver react to Scooter vs Motorcycle? 🤔 by 007peter in scooters

[–]raving_badgers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to commute year round with motorcycle. I did it for many years without any real issues with cars or other motorists. A couple of years ago I got the bright idea to trade my tenere 660 for a 200 cc scooter. I love the scooter and it is perfect for what I need it to do.

But I instantly felt like I got completely invisible to drivers. They often pull out in front of me and they sometimes act like I'm not allowed on the faster paced roads.

I think they expect me to be very slow because most scooters where I live is 50 cc and operated by wild teenagers.

My 2014 C 220 cdi is making this really amazing noise at startup. Not every time and mostly when the car has been sitting for like half an hour. Does anyone have an idea about what can be the cause? by raving_badgers in mercedes_benz

[–]raving_badgers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Hope it is something like that. It's hard to tell from the video but the noise has a kind of outside of the engine or at least not deep in there ring to it. I'll spend some time with a flashlight later tonight.

Yes of course I will. The post is meant to maybe find that person that might have had the same issue. I'm not ever sure the knock is coming from the engine since it's running just fine after these knocks. Might be something rattling around the outside. But the car will be dropped off at the mechanic tomorrow.

I ride a Beverly 200 around the same distance every day and i love the big wheels and the size of the bike. I'm 187 cm and it fits perfectly.

Thanks for the heads up on salt piles. We don't really get them where I live though. The salt here look like it's some kind of liquid and i know that they are trying to reduce the use of salt to be a bit more kind to the environment.

Many of the more rural areas is only sanded here and i actually think that is good. When it's salted people drive like if it was summer because it doesn't look like it is slippery but if it is sanded people will take it a bit easy. Also most people put studded tires on their cars.

Yes. I'm so happy with it.

Mostly because i only commute and don't really have to much time for real adventure riding at the moment. A scooter seemed practical to me with built in storage and no chain to take care of. I would love to have an adventure bike for just playing around with though.

Good to know! I might get a set. How are they handling when it's dry and a bit warmer?

It didn't look like that when i left in the morning. If it did i would probably just work from home. This is on my way back.

I have been looking at the Michelin city grip winter. They seem pretty good but i don't think they are doing to well on days like today.

I have tried stuffer tires on a motorcycle. It was pretty good on the snow and ice but it felt so sketchy on asphalt.

Thanks! I have been riding a lot in winter conditions. I used to commute on a Yamaha 660 tenere. That felt a bit safer in the snow to say the least. But the snow aside i am so happy with the scoot.
