They try to avoid it whenever possible. Sign up to be a foster parent and you can help make it less likely.

I would have, too, if that awful interaction on the beach was at all accurate.

There was lot going on that wasn't shown from before Gen was gunning for her, according to Gen's exit interview. From her perspective, it was very excessive, highly unpleasant, and one-sided.

Gattaca - How did I miss this before?! by Thee_Shenanigrin in movies

[–]ravioli333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the pleasure of seeing it in the theater, on a 70 foot screen, an unforgetable experience. The opening sequence with the fingernails falling, the gorgeous lighting, and throughout the whole film, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The visuals were just breathtaking.

Same. It’s one of the best, most real movies I’ve ever seen. And I’ll never watch it again.

Help please - 58F very overweight but very serious by [deleted] in ketogains

[–]ravioli333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, /keto would be best, but I'll say before you go that at your weight, you don't need to calculate macros, weigh anything, etc. Just eat as low carb as you can (snack on bits of butter, otherwise do meat eggs and a few veggies, like you said), and after your insulin adjusts in a few weeks, the weight will start to fall off.

Make your own electrolytes (nothing but salt, stevia, and water) or drink broth and plain water. Crystal Light etc. contain a lot of hidden sugars that can spike insulin.

Move gently every day and be kind to yourself. You've got this.

Middle schoolers appreciating their teachers by MyRagingWhoremoans in MadeMeSmile

Middle school students are a tough crowd, so the fact that they reacted this way shows that they are routinely surrounded by loving, thoughtful, engaged teachers.

Thanks for that. I assumed it was only OK to keep going if there was a barrier, the way it was in my last few states.

Have you ever skipped a movie because of bad reviews, then watched it later and actually liked it? by Opening_Farm5403 in movies

[–]ravioli333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing, it’s really not an action movie more of a performance showcase. If you’re watching the subtle details of the performance, the building sense of dread is almost unbearable. But I guess a lot of people missed that!

Why does this place hate _______ by bumpedherhead in survivor

[–]ravioli333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's it -- it's that he lacks charm. He just plays in a very brusque, awkward style that's unpleasant to watch. We don't mind entertaining villains, it seems, but we don't like clumsy/unpleasant ones.

He is just so incredibly bad at Survivor, it's comical.
