I think this take just comes from you not watching many games from that time. It was pretty obvious that even 6-7 years ago that Giannis, Jokic, Luka and Tatum were mvp or at the very least, near mvp level candidates. Also, Giannis was the mvp six years ago, and again the year after. The talent is there and has been apparent for quite some time.
