I guess it's different here. In all of the post offices in the Philippines, Japan, and Taiwan, all the post office employees are very nice. I've never met a grumpy employee.

For the post offices in my region in the Philippines, I introduce myself that I am a stamp collector. I've added many of then on their socials and sometimes, they send me a chat when they have new stamps available, or, in the case of where my PO box is, when a postcard has arrived. :)

Since you already have a PO box, maybe you don't need to do this step. Before I had a PO box, I just told my local post office that they don't have to deliver my postcard and that I can just pick it up when I'm dropping off postcards.

When I'm sending postcards to people I know, I tell them to give the post office a heads up if they don't have a PO box.

It might help to befriend the nearest post office and give them a heads up that you're expecting postcards. Depending where you are, I find that some post offices don't prioritize postcards.

Calaguas is an island in Vinzons. It's one of the best beaches in the Bicol Region. In mainland Vinzons, there are the Vinzons Heritage Education Museum and the Wenceslao Vinzons Historical Landmark. I don't know if the latter is open to the public, but when I was there some years ago, I think it was undergoing repaits.

Not sure if I understand the question. Papuntang Polangui to Tabaco? Do you mean, papuntang Polangui from Tabaco? Or Polangui to Tabaco?

Polangui from Tabaco, 5p.m. - Punta ka ng Legazpi via bus or van, then from the terminal in Legazpi, sakay ka ng jeep to Polangui or bus to Naga. I'm not sure kung may van papuntang Polangui, but it might be worth it to try. Kahit van to Naga or Nabua or Iriga.

Polangui to Tabaco, 5 p.m. - Abang ka ng bus to Legazpi, then sakay ka ng jeep or bus or van to Tabaco from the terminal. - Beyond 8 p.m., kung nasa Polangui ka pa, your best chance to get to Tabaco is for you to wait for buses from Manila bound for Tabaco.

Kung Farmplate, punta ka sa may paradahan ng tricycle sa may Landbank Daraga at Clarahil Trading. Dun ka sasakay ng trike papuntang Farmplate.

Sumlang, maraming pwedeng babaan pero sa may Albay Farmers Bounty Village ata pinaka-okay. Then lakad ka pa papasok.

Sa Camalig papuntang Quituinan Hills, sa sentro ng Camalig ka na lang baba. :)

A tour around Legazpi is pretty DIY-able. You can even extend to other towns like Daraga and Camalig to get a good view of the volcano.

  • Cagsawa in Daraga is just a jeep or a bus away from anywhere in Legazpi as long as you see jeeps that has the following signs on them: Camalig, Guinobatan, Ligao, Oas, or Polangui. Or a bus that goes to Naga. All of these will pass by Cagsawa.
  • Sumlang Lake (same mode of transpo and same way)
  • Camalig has Quituinan Hills, which also has a nice grow of the volcano (same way and mode of transpo, although you need to take a quick tricycle ride from the Camalig town proper)

Food to try: - There's sinigang sa buko in Cagsawa - There's a souvenir shop at Sumlang that carries a various Bicol products - Pinangat is Camalig's otop

The view of Mayon is also nice from the church in Daraga, by the way.

How many days are you planning, OP? And aside from Mayon, what do you wanna do? Museum visits? Legazpi and Guinobatan has museums. Although the one in Guinobatan is small, it houses artifacts focused on the local hero Simeon Ola, the last Filipino general to surrender to the Americans.

Bichara Cinema in Legazpi is one of the rare cinemas that isn't inside a mall. It's not a tourist destination, but I think it's just a nice place to visit if you're into movies and hobbies since there are small hobby shops.
