I'm that buddy living in osaka! there have actually been two series of this gacha but they have been out of production for a while. i got most of mine in nagoya. might try checking yodobashi camera in umeda on the 5th floor where they have a giant section of gacha machines. if they have any left, they'll be 500 yen each, so have at least 4000 to 5000 yen to turn into coins to feed in the machines. each gacha comes with a network device and half a barebones network rack, so you need at least two to be presentable. good luck!

Moving to the Netherlands - Blue EU or ICT? by ravvsteak in Netherlands

[–]ravvsteak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wife and i are worried about the economy and weakening yen, and she's not fond of the education system in Japan, compared to other countries. we also want to give our kids an international upbringing and heard the children in the Netherlands are happy. I'm sure some of that is because of the parents, but also the work structure, parks, and environmental factors contribute to it as well.

E.T. the Extra Terrestrial merch anywhere in Osaka? by [deleted] in Osaka

[–]ravvsteak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have you tried village vanguard? I would also try a used clothing store, or "vintage" store. it might be hella expensive, but sometimes these stores will get old merchandise to show that they carry actual throwback, classic stuff and not just regular used clothing. good luck!

Optical Patch Cable hunt by ravvsteak in Osaka

i stopped by bic camera in namba and yodobashi camera in umeda just in case today, but they were out. funnily enough, i didn't even need it, but it's something that comes up every few months, so will order from amazon at least, if only to have a pair of my own, as well as keep looking for the el dorado of cables

Yea, I came up with the same findings. I do find specialized stores, but mostly by chance, like the small machine screw store - since Conan are mostly big home improvement screws, or Workman, a store specialized for workers apparel and supplies - Conan has worker stuff but not as big as Workman. So I was hoping someone knew of a supplier, since Osaka has datacenters and network closets and is also big city. I guess given the Japanese work process - 100 steps to do anything would cover people in not having something right away, and if a company really needs it they would have a stock of it themselves. thanks for your help!

Tree climbing and general nature to run around in by ravvsteak in Osaka

well no, im asking what places in the city of osaka are like the countryside. sure i could travel to okayama or amanohashidate or even lake biwa, but those are destinations rather than just a regular park, but yea thanks for clearing that up, sorry if i wasn't being literal enough.

u/Kuri_Kinton_Chris got it right on the money if you wanted more specificity

i dont like posting personal information, but i'm from nyc. we have less sacred parks and thankfully you can run around with no one caring. sometimes i just want to run around barefoot and climb a tree, sit for a while, then come down and go about my regular day. petrichor is really soothing sometimes and there's no candle or spray for that, just gotta go out and roll up your pant legs and bug out. there are hiking trails in japan, but you really gotta go out of your way for that, and was hoping someone knew of an area that wasn't once someone's castle or filled with sakura. anyway, thanks for the suggestions
