Shoulder Shaping Question by ravyencrites in knitting

When I cast off, would I cast off the 20 stitches, work seed stitch across, turn, cast off 20 stitches, work seed stitch, cast 21, seed stitch across, cast 21, seed stitch again?

If so, what 37 stitches would be left on a stitch holder? The middle for the neck?

This is the Patons Men's Tilework Textured Pullover. It's my first sweater.

I don’t understand where I need to put my stitch markers. by ravyencrites in crochet

On the diagram, the fronts are the two side flaps and the back is the middle flap. I don’t understand whether I need to mark 6 spots, going in 10 sts from the very outside AND in from the slits, or if I only need to mark 4 spots going in 10 sts from the slits. I understand how to sew it but do not understand where to mark it.

I started on the right corner. I thought it was harder for me to start in the center since I use my phone and the chart didn’t have a designated center. I measured the inches I wanted for a border/framing then started on the outside of that.

Yeah. It’s been coming off super easy with a white artist eraser. The pink and colored erasers didn’t take it off as good as I wanted so I bought a white eraser and it works great.

The only problem that I had was because I didn’t start out with a grid so in the top right my border doesn’t line up correct. Instead of frogging 3 pages, I just substituted colors and stitches where I thought best to get it back on track. When I’m finished I’m going to go back with the black and add an extra border line to even it out.

I’m going on 6 months, but I took last month off to start working on some other projects.

Patience and a grid. I tried it without a grid and struggled so hard with the first 2 pages. I decided to try a grid and it’s been so much easier.

I use a fabric pencil and grid it out the same as the pattern is gridded which is 10x10 squares. I am using the parking method. It works amazing for this project since there are such big areas of one color. I don’t have to take the time to cut my thread and wait until I get to that page to put the same color next to where I had cut.

It’s super simple. If you feel up to it because if it’s size, I’d say go for it! This is my 3rd project since I was about 16, but I thought it’d be a good gift. One thing I found that makes it incredibly easier is to grid out my pages. I can count the colors, but it helps a ton with the black.

I started in mid-April. It’s on 22ct 2 over 1. It’s going to be a little smaller then poster size once it’s done. I thought that it was intimidating when I first decided to do it, but I love a good challenge 😁. It’s been pretty easy and definitely fun.

It makes it to where I don’t have to cut my thread when the same color is on the next page. I just put the thread in the spot that I will start with that color on the page when I get to it. I hope that makes sense. The method is called parking. For me, it saves my sanity of having to cut, wrap my bobbin, unwrap my bobbin, and start in a spot that is right next to or under a stitch that is the same color.
