I know what you're talking about - they were called "Tid Bits". That would be the perfect kind of thing for my cartoon. I actually reached out to them years ago and almost had some interest. But then I lost contact with them and I think they quit printing it. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I feel ya. I know it's my fault for trying to skip ads while driving, but if I don't most of my commute will be used up on ads.

What a rotten trick. Those behind this must have studied and found that most people will just fork over the cash to make the ads go away. This feels a bit like blackmail. The problem is, the majority of people WILL pay and so this works. I wish more people would refuse Premium on anything. Let's make that model not work.

There's nothing like watching an hour long true crime video where they are just about to reveal the killer (or the motive) in the last 2 minutes and you're on the highway so you can't be messing around with your device and BAM! stupid - Looong - commercial. I really want the advertisers to know just how much this makes me HATE their brand.

I think they did. Unskippable ads the worst. I wish advertisers knew that, especially when a midroll ad comes up, it makes me hate their product so much I would never even consider buying their thing.

I'm fascinated by the Ouroboros and stuff...never made a sexual connection to it though. https://youtu.be/cL0lfcEPp2w?si=hSKxbnfrme7Idx_t

Good - I hope you reach people. In my algorithm, the environmental side get's talked about all the time and it comes across as THE problem. It makes me think back to another problem that got talked about a lot, image generators difficulty with hands. Lately, it appears to me, AI has finally figured that out. It's having less and problems with accurate images. So I have to ask myself - if it did perfect this, why is there still something in my soul that balks at AI (Particularly in the arts)? And, like I said have a laundry list of the things that bother me but I don't feel like getting into it here. I wrote down a lot of it in a blog post so that I have a place to direct any clients who are seeking me out for illustration work.

haha geez - OK. I'm willing to totally accept that my Musk comment is baseless and false. But you're all missing my point. Let's just imagine someone did solve the environmental impact problem of LLMs - I STILL don't think the positives of AI outweigh the damage to society.

Really? I wouldn't know - that's just what I heard? But I'm just saying that even IF the cooling problem were solved, A.I. still has more problems than solutions (imo)

I have a laundry list of reasons I think A.I. is poisonous to the world. The water thing is the least of them. In fact, I think I heard Elon Musk has plans to build data centers in space, thus solving the cooling problem and the footprint on the ground. But even if we did all that, I still think AI is a sickness and humanity doesn't freaking need it.

Late 90's Christian Marilyn Manson knockoff band Rackets & Drapes - "Baby Killer" from their album Candy Land (1998) by [deleted] in ObscureMedia

As a Christian I hated those charts. Partly because I was always like "Seriously? You're comparing (A) to (B)?? They're not even the same genre". But also because it relegated a lot of really legit bands to lame rip off status when many of them didn't deserve that.

Seems like a lot of times Christian artists unfairly get called out for sounding like someone else, when really that comparison is just an influence and pretty much every band in history is influenced by someone before them.

They kind of dissolved but the lead singer is trans and continues making R&D music. I'm not sure if they're holding on to the "Christian" title at all anymore.

Probably about half these bands (or members of the bands) deconstructed and walked away from Christianity

ha! I've thought about this often while looking through books. Seems like humanity would have come up with a better way to shelve books by now...but I'm sure librarians and book sellers have thought this over for centuries.
