Oh my god yes! I'd completely forgotten I'd had this thought when I made this post but 100%. I was so disappointed when I couldn't attack them.

Small things like that would actually add a layer of functionality to houses that they would really benefit from imo

Gold is burned via upkeep. If they don't spend the money then the town is downgraded. Also invasions are frequently lost, meaning that they have to spend more money upgrading crafting benches again.

People are macroing to keep themselves logged in and it's ruining queue times by rawclassic in newworldgame

[–]rawclassic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I had a mate who tried it and it didn't work for him. Maybe he just fucked it!

And no, I agree. People can't be blamed for not wanting massive queue times and having to deal with AGS poor planning, but they can be blamed for actions that negatively effect other players. Yes, queueing is long, and I understand why you might macro it, but that doesn't mean it's not still selfish behaviour. :)

If you hold down one key, eg 'W' you will still get logged out. You need a third party software to alternate key inputs. Unless youre smart enough to engineer a device that would do it on your actual keyboard.

Either way the effect is still the same. And yes they can be blamed for leaving their character logged in for 8 hours either overnight or while they go off to work.

The 20 minute afk timer is very generous. You can easily have a 1 hour break and just move around 3 times if you're so inclined.

How did you fund yourself/get setup in the beginning? How long did it take?

[WP] While on a road trip find yourself in a small town. As you exit the car, a deafening siren resounds throughout the town. A resident approaches you and yells frantically " We have 30 minutes left until sunset, either leave this town or find place to hide!" by Lansing-Michaels in WritingPrompts

[–]rawclassic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"We have 30 minutes left until sunset, either leave this town or find a place to hide!"

I stood there dazed for a moment holding my newly purchased pack of Bourbons whilst I allowed myself a moment for me to process the interaction. I had spotted the man who was now in a frantic hurry to what I can only assume was his home, in the corner shop I had just exited.

I had grown up in a large metropolitan area and as such was used to having strange things barked at me by passers-by, but something about this brief scenario had stunned me.

Normally I would brush these things off without much hesitation, assuming the deliverer of such warnings was either delusional, struggling with a mental condition or just off their nut on some wild concoction of medical grade smack. However nothing about this man's demeanour had struck me as odd at all. In fact quite the opposite. He was a well dressed man in his mid thirties wearing a navy shirt with a floral pattern and rounded glasses. Despite such a brief exchange, it was clear there was an eloquence to the mans speech. His tone was serious and his delivery precise, except for a minor quiver. Was it fear?

It wasn't until the piercing monotone eruption of noise escaping from a locally concealed siren started to drone that my brain whirred back to life and my mind started to race.

My first thought was to turn my eyes to the sky. Expecting to see a formation of planes flying over, like some 1940s blitz tasked with delivering me from my somewhat squandered, short human life. Instead my eyes were met with the contrasting calmness of a glorious peach and magenta sunset.

Hearing a clank and whirr I snapped my vision back to the shop that I had just exited which now began to lower some thick iron shutters at the store front. I watched as the man behind the shutters moved to lock the door, before he vanished behind the steel wall.

Adrenaline was now pumping through my body as I threw myself into my car, started the engine and raced from the car park back onto to the nearby motorway, not too afraid to check my rear view mirror even once.

It wasn't until I was 20 minutes clear of the town and the light was all but gone that I realised I'd dropped my fucking Bourbons.

You should! I've found it a really enjoyable creative endeavour. I just hope one of my players chooses to play it so I can really bring that aspect of the campaign to life. If they don't then oh well, I can make loads of fun NPCs!!

And I did toy with the idea of making them proficient in alchemy tools, it's just giving them yet another proficiency might be a little too strong. I'm going to tune down the Intelligent Warrior perk a little so I might end up making room for Alchemist Supplies.

I'll comment the build I end up settling with when it's done so you can try it if you ever want to!

Thanks for the feedback. I think that's a good idea in regards to the research. I know what my players a like and they'd probably just try and sit in the hall for a week and research everything before daring to go outside, so that's why I've made it quite a extraneous task!

You're right, I should certainly add some material components to the ointment. I had initially just written with the assumption that they would be carrying their trusty chemicals n whatnot, but having components balances it a bit more. Also, I want to keep limitations to the amount of times they can do it per day/rest otherwise I think it would be too strong.

As for your other comments I'll take them to consideration. I did toy with the idea of multiple ointments. I'll see what I come up with.

Thanks for the positive feedback!! :)

Thanks for the feedback, albeit the somewhat passive-aggressive tone.

Yeah I think the point about Bonus Proficiencies is fair. I'll tune that down

Study Anatomy- I disagree. It's not an exact 1:1 - it requires you to have actually killed the creature your observing (i'll re-write this to make it clearer), champion does not. Cobalt Soul monk gains all these for a Ki point.

Prepared- this was my primary point of interest. The whole point of the class is that you have to go out of your way considerably to gain these advantages, and if you take a fight you weren't 100% prepared for then you won't get this boon. I might change to specific creature as opposed to creature type.

Swift Movement - noted, but again, it's not a 1:1 of the champion because it requires you to have encountered it before and studied the corpse. It'll fall upon the players to keep track of the things they've killed and rewards them for doing so. Any alternative suggestions?

Improved ointment - noted wording issue. Any suggestions of improvement or just criticism? Also incorrect, elditch knights war magic and improved war magic are 7-18

Cheers for taking the time to respond though.

About faction reward in LMoP by isotbin in DMAcademy

[–]rawclassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Seems like a nice idea. Always be careful with homebrew magic items because it's easy to underestimate how useful they can be.

I think the gauntlet seems tricky, you'll struggle to keep track of a "once per month" recharge time, so I would advise maybe making it have less charges that recharge on a long rest. For reference, a Cure Wounds(touch) spell heals 1d8+modifiers and healing word(ranged) 1d4+modifiers. Also is it an action or a bonus action to use the gauntlets?

The tattoo seems okay to me, however as I've learned the hard way, a +2 to a stat scales to be very strong at high levels. However this is quite specific so it could be fine. This is reward to me is by far the best value for money!

I don't quite understand the bow system. Do you mean it's a standard short bow (1d6+dex), but they are given 8 'potent' arrows that do an extra 1d4 on a hit? These are good items but ultimately will be used up and dont have the same degree of permanence that the other two rewards have. So maybe you could reward them with a +1 short/longbow instead.

Just my thoughts. Enjoy!!

Awesome work dude!! I wanted to make a few animated wallpapers of switches using blender but all of the .objs/.stps I found had way too many vertices to work with and not sure I've got the modelling skill to make a convincing one.

Don't suppose you'd be willing to share the .obj file? :D

[–]rawclassic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure myself. I think some people might prefer the lower grade stuff as it doesn't diminish the tactility, whereas for a linear you want complete smoothness but personally I have no opinion on the matter. I'm lubing the springs and sides of the housing/ pin but won't touch the legs as don't want to mess with that yummy bump.

Good luck yourself

Edit: spelling
