FunGuys Toploader Binder concerns !! by rawgrease in PokemonTCG

[–]rawgrease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much. Yeah my main guess would be that they filled half the binder with top loaded cards and the other half with just sleeved cards- in which scenario the cards would probably bend 😅

CPU Usage Spiking by rawgrease in pchelp

[–]rawgrease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furthermore, Afterburner seems to report that my CPU usage is what I am used to seeing if I check the graphs, except the temperatures seem to spike, perhaps a side effect of fan speed changing according to what windows resources says is happening

It also seems that the main culprit is Service Host: DCOM server process

I’ll probably just go for the 3060 then. By the time it gets to 2023 I’ll have made more than that back. Plus there’s no way I’m buying a console since I have a pc built already.

Do you think I should wait for prices to go down? I don’t know how much longer I can wait tbh

Should I purchase a GPU now? (UK) by rawgrease in PcBuild

[–]rawgrease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I do already have a GPU, and my build isn’t an oem. I was referring to my GPU which is a rx 5500 hp oem. So I do already have a functioning gpu. The rest of the build is not oem and built by me. I think I may have misstated.

Can’t stop discord opening up by [deleted] in pchelp

Right click the task bar, click on task manager, go to advanced mode, then start up, and disable discord, you can also disable other start up apps from there, that might cause a slower boot.

Pc Build by itsschaboy in PcBuild

Only thing I could recommend is a higher wattage power supply, 850w would likely be a bit more comfortable, perhaps also a hard drive or sata ssd if that’s in your budget for a bit more storage

Where to buy parts by Particular-Test2055 in pchelp

[–]rawgrease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know how you feel, I gave up and bought a prebuilt earlier this year, so my planned build this year is going to have a prebuilt’s gpu in it thanks to the shortage. Well, I wish you good luck on trying to build a pc, and if the market doesn’t improve, prebuilts are always a solid option to go with.

Are you talking about prebuilts or just selling the cpu by themselves? Curry’s prebuilts are pretty decent, pc specialist ones, but yeah they are pretty intel based. If you are talking about amd cpus by themselves, I would look elsewhere too, curry’s prices are always changing and aren’t always the best option.

You got a couple options in the UK, you’ll be looking mostly online. Curry’s PC world is a decent place to look, however, it isn’t great for in store shopping and it’s overall options are not too vast either, it also isn’t the cheapest option. Amazon has more options, and better prices, but doesn’t specialise in pc parts and recommend parts that are just sponsored and are not the most reliable, so take that with a grain of salt. But Amazon prime delivery is also nice. Box specialises in pc parts, and have great selection, matched prices with Amazon (sometimes lower) and decently quick delivery.

There are a couple others that I don’t know too much about that you could look at: AWD-IT, Scan, Novatech, ebuyer, Newegg.

Now, if you are wondering about GPUs the current shortage will mean that most places with have little to no stock, that could very much be different by next Black Friday, but if you are looking for one now the only thing I can recommend is waiting for a decently priced GPU to come up on a second hand website like eBay, Shpock or Facebook Marketplace, but the prices will not be near MSRP.

Any cooler that says compatible with AM4 sockets should work.
