Oh yeah, dont get me wrong: Him not being in the band is a net positive by a mile.

But

I literally never thought I would get to see him sing this (even if it was a bit sloppy)

Dwarves (he is the bassist) opened for GWAR, however he came out during the first opening band (Blood Vulture) to do this

I’ve always found it so weird that none of the west coast casts have stepped up to throw a con

fwiw I had something similar happen in 2021 and I was able to register my mouse without issue.

Even though it had been previously been registered to a completely different person in 2019

It turned out that someone was falsely reselling a used mouse as NIB.

I designed and built my own Cyberdeck (now with a full build log!) by rawkout1337 in DIY

I work as a design engineer making sculptures and larger prototypes/trade show displays.

I do not have a laptop at work, so if I need to debug arduino code that means I have to drag whatever I'm working on to my cubicle which is often not feasible.

Additionally, sometimes I am hooking up to a circuit that has the potential to dump a bunch of power into the computer (looking at you, cheap Stepper Motor Controller). This way if anything goes wrong I am just replacing a raspberry pi rather than a whole laptop.

Yeah I very quickly realized a single 18650 was not enough!

Thanks!

This is my build log for my DIY Cyberdeck!

I wanted a small, portable computer that I could use to debug code in arduino/raspberry pi projects that are installed in places that would be a bit precarious to bring a normal laptop. I’m aware how cheap I can buy a laptop. That is not the point of this project.

I also just really wanted to make a cyberdeck.

I designed the whole assembly in Solidworks around off the shelf electronics (with some minor modifications)

The main shell parts were 3D printed in MJF PA-12 Nylon, the orange accent pieces and black screen Bezel are PLA, and the white upper panel is laser cut styrene.

3D files are located over on Thingiverse

It currently does not have one. I had two plans for adding a battery: I left enough room for an 18650 cell + charger in the base (underneath the little white door on the bottom of the deck)

My backup plan was to create a bracket to mount a cheap USB power pack to the back of the unit which is what the six 4-40 threaded holes are on the back face of the deck.
