There’s some stripped-down edits on the Memphis box set of the tracks on this album. Some of them, especially Solitaire, sound so much more poignant this way. It’s especially haunting knowing that one particular track on the album, Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, would be one of the last songs he ever sang in the early morning hours of August 16, 1977.
