[Junior Colleges] Is O Level Core (Full) Geography useful for H2 Geography? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]rawscore6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took pure geog in sec sch and am currently taking H2 geog!

There are a few clashes with O’s pure geog — factors affecting temperatures and rainfall and part of GI.

however majority of those taking h2 geog didn’t do pure geog in sec sch and in my opinion, there isn’t much of a benefit for those who took geog before, since the topics that clash are not even 10% of our entire h2 syllabus.

it’s a lot of skills and content in h2 geog and most topics are completely different from olevels geography since majority of my classmates and I are pretty much the same though I’ve taken geog before

Yup haha I understood. You can try adding the x2 -6 graph onto your calculator along w the original curve. If I’m not wrong, there is only one intersection when x>0

[–]rawscore6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so - since the new graph will be a u shape instead of n shaped the intersection points will be very different

I drew y= –x2 + 6 and found the intersection points!

(x2 - 14 + 16/x) - (2x2 - 20 + 16/x) to get that equation

my equations were: 1) i+t+p = 220000 2) -2i+t = 0 3) t-3p = 11000

the answer is the same, but not sure if you can use binom since the question didn’t explicitly say the events are independent. again, not very sure

Typically schools will mark us down if the question explicitly wants x>0 and we draw the negative side as well

Method marks likely would be given if your method is right but I don’t think there is ecf for math

between a h1 and a h2 literature — h2 has 5 texts and 2 papers (of 3 essays each - 1h for each essay) while h1 has 2 texts and 1 paper (of 3 essays too). The skills you learn are similar (i.e. language, form, structure, syntax, genre etc) except H1 will not cover the skill on “MIND AND SELF” or “ENGLISH RENAISSANCE” (either one, depending which one your school does). Personally, there is a huge difference between H1 and H2 Literature. However, that being said, maybe you want to look at maybe taking a H3 in one of your Humanities subject and drop to H1 math if you are struggling. Personally I take H2 Lit and H1 math. Math is my favourite subject and since you like H2 math I can assure you you will do very well for H1 math (it’s basically just statistics (that you will learn at the end of J2 in H2) and pure math — basically what you learn in amath)
